Question about Ford Taurus
Probably just that the tappets need adjusting. could also be something more serious though like worn crankshaft bearings or something. to tell you the truth it could be alot of things but the thing that's most likely is just that the tappets need adjusting, especially if they havn't been done before/for a while.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF OIL IN THE MOTOR 7 ITS IN TIME.IF IT DOESNT GET ANY LOUDER,DONT LET IT GET YOU NERVOUS. PS ONLY IF IT DOES START GETTING LOUDER YOU MIGHT WANT TO TAKE IT BACK IN TO WHOMEVER DID THE BELT

Maybe from lack of oil changes or over rev of engine.
Go to the auto parts store and buy good oil and filter and get a can of Marvel Mystery Oil (red can) and make sure the engine is 1 quart low on oil. Pour the Marvel in with your oil and let the engine idle for up to 2 hours.Then do an oil and filter change. The Marvel is a heavy detergent that will clean up your engine and wash most of the dirt into your old oil filter.Be nice to your engine!
