Question about Ford Fiesta

1 Answer

I have a Ford Fiesta 1.4i 2005. I've replaced my head gasket twice, last November and again in Jan this year. Had the top schemed both times did pressure testing as well replaced the cylander bolts 3 weeks ago. It runs for a week or so but you can hear water gushing like a running gurgling sound close to the passenger end of the car. I checked and there is foam again on the cap.The water sounds getting worse and the car struggles to start. Both times the car started losing water but gave no sign of overheating until it eventually just gives in and overheat at the same time. I'm so frustrated cause its costing me. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crack in the top of the block where the head meets. Must replace block.
I advise finding the same engine and having the blown one as a spare.

Are you sure you have all the air out of the cooling system? Have you had the system tested with a gas analyzer for a leaking head gasket? I would go with the head gasket.

I have a 2003 Ford taurus. I keep on losing a lot of the coolant out of the resevoir cap. It percolates, then I lose it. I've replaced the cap twice. The first time it looked like the cap was...

When it is percolating, can you feel if the bottom radiator hose is hot and the top one cool? If so your thermostat could be bad. Are your cooling fans coming on at the right times and last but not least, do you have any water in your oil? That could be a bad head gasket and the percolating would be the exhaust gases bubbling back through the radiator.

Sometimes stop leak made for heads are successful for awhile. But sooner are later the head gasket will need to be replaced and head deck worpage will need to be checked.

Overheat

It very much sounds like the head gasket. Just one thing though. Has the timing belt been changed? If so recheck timing as one tooth out will cause this problem.
