Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:
Sensor signal shorted to chassis ground
Sensor signal shorted to sensor ground circuit
Sensor has an internal failure (it is shorted)
PCM has failed

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with one of the components or sensors it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and you need to diagnosed and repaired it. There are test that need to be performed the find out the cause, if you do not have a good understanding of electricity take it to a professional. The light will stay on until the problem is solved. This can cause problems with other sensor if not corrected.

What does po112 code mean?

it means exactly what the book says (FSM)

it means the Intake air temp sensors is reading OUT OF RANGE
and ILLEGAL input.
The 5vdc supply refr. is dead (0v) bad ECU, or wires.
the IAT sender is shorted.
the IAT wires are shorted.
we find this easy.
we measure the IAT with an Ohm meter, if it reads good
we then check for 5v at the connector, if bad we find that next.
if 5v good we check the wires, for ground outs.

My1998 audi a6 want start it is telling me code po112 is bad how do I no what that means

e81e6100-e34b-4570-9a1b-61afbb144d2b.jpgThe diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is saying that your vehicles computer has detected low voltage in the intake air temperature sensor (IAT sensor). In most cases I believe the vehcle would usually start at least but I have seen this causing a no start condition as well. It could be a wiring issue but you can check the resistance of that sensor with an ohm meter. In the picture above using your ohm meter at each terminal of the sensor. Your readings should be between 1.5 and 3.5k ohms. If this isn't within those readings then the sensor is faulty and needs replaced. If this isn't the actual cause of your vehicle not starting you will need to go back to the basics. It takes 2 things in order for a vehicle to start, fuel & spark at the spark plugs. You will need to find out what is missing and when you find the loss (fuel or spark) at this point you need to narrow down the reason for the loss. For example if you're not getting fuel you will need to check the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump and/or any fuses on that circuit. No spark could be anumber of things like a bad coil or many other things. These are just examples of possible causes. I hope it's as simple as the IAT sensor but I do have my doubts. Hope I was able to help,,,,,

code po113 refers to intake air temp (IAT) sensor--circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring open circuit/short to positive--wiring short to ground---ground wire defective IAT sensor---ECM
code mp0700 refers to transmission control system/MIL-malfunction===causes--wiring ---TCM
code po562 refers to system voltage low==causes---wiring poor connections---battery---alternator or it also refers to ECM power relay control--circuit open===causes ---wiring--ECM ---relay. For this one check the battery terminals and posts are shiny clean and tight . Code PO113

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0113

Intake Air Temperature Sensor High Voltage

What is the circuit like?

  • In order to regulate the signal voltage going to the engine control module (ECM) the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor utilizes the thermistor.
  • This circuit receives a 5 volt reference voltage and a ground to the sensor supplied by the ECM.
  • The IAT sensor signal voltage will be high when the air is moderately cold as the resistance will be high.
  • The IAT sensor signal voltage will be low when the air is moderately warm as the resistance will be low.

I hope this helps, mike from fixya, I am writing another comment in another comment to continue some. Thanks Mike
