Just follow the positive battery cable to engine block ,the starter is at the end of wire ,i believe is a 15mm socket to remove two bolts holding starter and also there is one tiny nut holding a small wire at the back of starter ,,,,,,good luck

1961 chevrolet impala changed to a1wire alternator now there is not any fier going to anything at all

If you had a generator you also had an external regulator. One of wires has to now hook to battery power. Try jumper wire first newer cars have wire on starter battery lug you may also need new starter solenoid with two small terminals so you can run extra wire to coil for starting.

2003 Impala with a Python remote starter installed. It is killing my car battery. how do I unhook the remote system?

Find the control module under the dash and disconnect it. It should be easy to find, it will be taped or wire tied to the underside wiring of the dash on the drivers side. Reconnect any factory wires that have been cut into as well.

You need to know how to use a volt/ ohm meter. If you don't . have some one to replace the radio. If you put 12 volts to the wring wire, you cold blow the PCM. Or other computers.

I have a 2006 Chevy Impala LT and I need to know what is the wire from the starter to the alternator used for? Also, do I need to replace this wire if I have one going from the battery to the alternator?...

Hi, the extra wire is not essential, but it provides some redundancy. The alternator charge wire can be connected directly to the battery or via the starter hot terminal or both. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I just installed an after market stereo in my impala. Now the starter doesn't engage. Is their a wire on the wire harness that affects this?

In the wiring diagrams there is a COMPUTER DATA LINES SYSTEM wire. From what I have read the radio won't cause the car not to start. Did you make sure you didn't drain the battery? Is the Theft Deterrent light on? If it is you're going to need a scanner to get the codes. This is what the Theft Deterrent system does with the radio.

I think if the Theft Deterrent light is on you will have to start there if not just diag a no crank condition.

Reman starter not working quite right

The best wiring diagram you can get ahold of is from your local chevy dealer. The eyelets on the wires for the starter should only fit on the appropriate studs. If you can't get some help from the dealer head for your local parts store and see if they have a manual that can help.
