The 4JG2 is an indirect injection engine. It replaced the 4JB1-T in the Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper II) and Mu/Wizard (Rodeo) in most markets.[44] This engine was upgraded from mechanical injection to electronically controlled mechanical injection.

and why not say what is wrong, or symptoms.??????
If you are hearing a loud "knock" and it is coming from the bottom of the engine you probably have a bad crankshaft bearing(s) which means engine rebuild or replacement.
Don't know the USA system but here in Europe the sister car with the same engine does 13 liters per 100 km on city, 9 l / 100 km on road and 12 l / 100 km on highway.
If you mean engine oil?, Check the dipstick, to see how much oil you have all ready in the engine.
On the dipstick you will see two marks or notches on the stick, the level of oil in the engine should be in between the two marks or notches. Do this with the engine turned off at all time.
valve guides worn and tappet adjustment required, can check tappet adjustment first to see slightly better before removing heads and getting valve guides repaired/replaced on heads common problem
if raise revs to 1500-2000rpm and hold does clatter come and go come and go (valve guides) if there all the time tappet clearance issue
if there only under load (1st rev up) for a couple of times then stops possible big end bearing
all these are common for this engine
thanks a lot...
