Measure the nut -divide x .0395
to get metric size

e.g.---1.264 div x .0395 = 32mm nut
--- 1.422 div x .0395 = 36mm nut

Please try this steps:

  • First make sure the socket connector from the light is connected properly.
  • Secondly, make sure the wires from the socket is fixed and not loose.

I cant get the hub off 1997 doge ram 1500 4x4 i have tried everything any new ideas

what have you tried? all bolts out? rusted in the housing? sometimes you can get a socket and extension onto the bolts and loosen them about 1/4" and then put the ext on part of the frame/a arm and crank the truck up and turn the wheel to push the hub out. Its hard to describe what I mean, but you are basically using the socket/extension to press the hub out with the bolts.

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4 x 4, I need to remove the Left Axle from the Axle Housing to replace seals and U-joint. How do I remove the Axle from the Axle Housing?

Remove wheel....remove brakes....three bolts behind the hub (9/16" 12pt socket)....1 11/16" nut in center of hub needs to be removed. You will need a slide hammer type puller to hook onto the hub for removal. (you should replace the hub...prone to go bad)....axle will now slide out through opening where the hub was.

I think my front Drivers side wheel bearing is going out on my 2004 dodge ram 1500 4x4. It is an ABS system. What should I do to replace this? I wouldnt mind doing it myself if its the cheaper route.

Remove the wheel, the brake caliper with the mounting bracket and pads all together, the brake rotor, and the axle nut. Make sure the axle is free inside the hub splines by pushing it in a bit. I believe this truck has 3 bolts for the hub/bearing assy. They remove from the inboard side of the knuckle, then the hub/bearing assy comes out. It may be corroded in the knuckle, so some force may be required to get it out. To reassemble, reverse the steps, being careful to torque the axle nut to the proper spec. Also pump the brake pedal before you road test to verify the noise is gone.

Front axel/hub

the hub is seized into stering knuckle..you can try putting a socket or a small 1/2" drive extension between 1 ear of front axle shaft and axle housing and turning wheels all the way to whatever side you have socket in..this will push hub out of knuckle..try doing this both ways with engine running..keep axle nut on shaft

First just crawl under it and grab your axles and see if you can shake them and get any movement from either of them this will tell you if you have a loose CV joint or not .. thanks Jerry holler if you need more .
