Can I just have broken rear spring leaves fixed or do I need to replace them? Also, what could happen if I ignore this problem? I own a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban. Thank you.

They have to be replaced-it is a safety issue. And, if it totally failed, it will cause major damage to your ride. They are not that expensive, you can go on the internet (or ebay) to find pairs that are relatively inexpensive compared to dealer prices.

Just had the same thing happen to me. You have wires in your transmission that may have broke. Your external wire harness needs to be replaced. The shop just charged me $700 for the fix. Ignore the sensor for now, it is trying to tell you about the wires. I would take it to a shop for the fix. Your transmission will need to be pulled apart to access the wires. The wires that are broken control when your automatic transmission shifts. If they break, your transmission will not shift properly. Please feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to help.

Hi, Can tell me the best way to change the rear coil springs on my 1998 nissan patrol. Regards Barry

Hey Barry,
The springs you speak of can kill you. Please - do not attempt this without some there to assist you if something goes wrong.
If you're determined then - where you buy your springs - will most likely rent you a pair of spring compressors. These are not easy to use the first time and if they happen to come loose at any time - this is where you can get killed.
Still if you insist:
1- jack the car up and block it up with jack stands - using the recommended body jack points.
2- remove the wheels
3- once the wheel is removed remove the brake assembly and tie it out of your way as this can cause a dangerous problem once the procedure goes further.
4- use the rented or borrowed [ or purchases] spring compression tool and compress each spring. It is best to have another person here to jack up the rear end as you compress both springs at the same time and remove as they lower the rear end.
Again I recommend you leave this dangerous dirty job to the pros. - - Hope this helps - see the diagram below for reference only.

Its NOT difficult but you would need a SPRING compressor. This tool can be rented from an AUTO ZONE when you return this tool you will get you money back. You just have to compress spring and remove shock absorber and replace in the opposite. Good luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

Broken spring on the gas fuel tank door on Toyota ''Camry'' 1998

Go to your nearest Toyota dealer. Purchase this part number: 77360-22020; approx 4 dollars.

Open the fuel door. Being careful, remove the leftover plastic that is hooked by the door hinge. Insert the new spring assembly under the slot, and press it in until it clicks into place. Very easy to do.
Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa.

91 Trooper leaf springs

ok what you have is just a multi leaf leaf spring. in the middle of the leaf where the axle should be a bolt that holds them together. you need to check the U bolts that hold the axle to the spring. there has to be a reason it moved . check the leaf spring for a broken leaf. i would recomend getting new Ubolts. and when you put it back together make sure you use the bolt that holds the leaves together as the center .
if ya need more help just let me know
if ya could snap a pic if you are having problems and send it i might be able to be more of a help.
