Question about Buick LeSabre

The care vibrates at starting at 10 and worst between 40-50 mph. we changes all tires, the problem was not solved. finally the mechanic said, there are two rubber pieces that the engine sits on and they are broken. Would this solve the problem?

Buick lesabre starts vibrating at 45 mph and stops around 55 mph...the steering wheel does not shake much but you can feel it vibrating just the same.....had new tires put on and balanced for the 2nd...


A vibration such as you are talking about could be caused by more then one thing. First it could be caused by a broken belt in one of your tires. I could also be caused by a bent rim, a warped rotter, or a bad cv joint. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

Just purchased a used 1998 S10 extended cab 4 cylinder automatic had a slight vibration around 60 to 65 mph, I took it into the mechanic and they had all of the U Joints and the carrier bearing replaced...


Ok here is your fix, If you go to the dealer they sellshims that go between the trans mount and the trans to change the angle and the pitch of the driveshaft to eliminate that vibration.. good luck

Vibration in front end axles look good tried new tires still there


If you jack up 1 wheel off the ground and put the car in gear , you can watch the tire spin. You might see a bent rim. The shop that mounted the tires should have seen it and warned you though.

2003 Honda Accord 2.4 VTEC, vibration during acceration


I just replaced both cv axels one solved 80% of the problem and the other solved the rest. I wasted alot of time and money on new tires, balancing 3 times and an alignment. I should have just taken it to the transmission shop that I trust.

2000 GMC Sonoma Vibrates at 25 and 45 mph


Generally, the tire vibration only arrives at 60ish.
However, if you have a distorted tire, or worse, more than one, or even worse, Buckled Wheels!
You are inevitably going to experience vibrations, at varying speeds.
Take the wheels off, and make sure, the wheels are actually still,, er, circular.
It's best to put them on a Balancing Machine, then you can see how bad they are.
If the problem isn't solved soon, you may well be finding yourself, forking out for new wheel bearings.
That should do it.

Vibrations while driving like you are describing can come from tires that have defects (internally broken belts) (wheel weights that have fallen off) or a bent rim (perhaps from another driver [not you :-) ] hitting a curb) Are the tires worn? Have they been balanced and rotated regularly? You report no vibration in the steering wheel.
Vibrations during braking can be warped rotors or discs (but this doesn't sound like your problem since these kind are usually felt in the steering wheel during braking).
If and only if you feel like you can do this safely,
you can try getting the car up to 55, placing the car in neutral, then switching the "engine off" but leave the "key on" (be warned the power steering will go out but the vehicle can still be steered though the steering wheel will be much stiffer) if you try this (do it perhaps in a vacant parking lot or on an empty road) and the vibration goes away with the engine off but while the vehicle is still moving, then the vibration is engine or transmission related. If this is the case you might hope for maybe a bad engine mount. Bad engine mounts can be diagnosed with the vehicle stopped as well. However, if the vibration remains with the van moving forward but with the engine off, the vibration is likely a problem with the tires or suspension. Try to provide some more info.
If you don't feel comfortable trying the above suggestion, please take the vehicle in to an ASE certified suspension and steering professional for further diagnosis.

Finally, I had a similar situation happen to me today. I was riding with a friend in their van and the vehicle started vibrating more and more around 55 mph. We stopped and carefully checked the front tires (including the lug nuts for tightness) but
found a tire defect. (it had several broken steel belts that caused a bulge in the tire and thus the vibration) We changed the tire and the vibration was gone. Good luck to you.
