It is probably your speed sensor. Fix is here if you want to do it yourself.

I just bought an 02 GMC Savana 3500 with 350 and I was told about 120k. Bought it cheap as heck as a known project but Im kinda stumped with electrical issues.

one point I am thinking is , the mileage for the car is too low so maybe a new dash was fitted and all the plugs at the back were not correctly fitted or ground wires were not connected
an 2002 is 15 years old
average distance covered is 20 k per year so the speedo should have over 250-300 k on it

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer and speeddometer does not work if in park it stays at 90 mpr then when i drive it goes past 120 mpr what could be the problem

This a fairly common problem with the instrument cluster gauges. All the gauges are driven by stepper motors and these sometimes go bad. If you are capable of removing the cluster from the vehicle, there are vendors on Ebay that repair clusters.

2004 dodge caravan instument cluster started blinking on and off as well as headlights....speeddometer went all the way around

With key in the off position, hold the reset on the trip portion of speedometer until the light comes on. Allow the vehicle to reset everything, and then test it by turning the key on. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right but this should fix your problem.

Hello, Im a US Marine and dont know alot about automotive but Im not completly numb... My father in-laws 2003 4x4 dodge pick has been blowing fuse #18 which when blown or removed the dash lights go out......

That fuse also supplies illumination to the radio, hvac controller, cup holder and cigarette tray. I think the best thing to do is start unplugging each one of these until the fuse stops blowing. Then plug the last think in that you unplugged to make sure that makes the fuse blow. If you suspect the instrument cluster start with that first.

Im buying a motor at the junk yard it has 98000 miles do i need to buy the odometer or just the icm so i know how many miles are on the motor im buying i dont want to have my old odometer reading since...

It is illegal to change the Cluster or modify the odometer reading , unless the mileage on the cluster in your car now is documented, the mileage and date of the new cluster when installed is also documented. You do not have to change the cluster just because you change the motor. The mileage only is there for the vehicle not for the engine. Hope this helps, Not sure if you were asking about the legal aspects. Cobra.. :-)

Replace the instrument cluster on my 2003 ford focus

Hi:
I would strongly suggest that you hunt for a used cluster at a local auto parts yard. I know there are issues with keeping the odometer reading accurate, but that can be taken care off. If your speedometer and odometer are working correctly, that could be moved to the new cluster to preserve the acccuracy. I don't think a used cluster should be more than $150 or so, and having it replaced isn't that difficult.
If you are even remotely handy, it could be done with a little guidance. A one year subscription to www.alldatadiy.com for approx $20 will get you all of the how to knowledge you would need!

Instament cluster not working on 95 jeep cherokee

you need to replace the cluster if you can find the "exact" model in a junk yard with "low" miles then get that one otherwise it might be best to buy new and you need to have the "body control module" checked. all widows and doors work? have it checked but your cluster is fried.

Speedomter not working odometer does

take your cable and gauge hook the cable up to your electric drill run the drill at high speed and, see if the gauge and speeddometer works if it does then your problem is either the gear in the dash unit or the gear in the transmission

Instrument Cluster bulbs

There are no "bulbs" in it. The cluster has LED's soldered into it. Unfortunately you can't just change them. If you get a new instrument cluster, and install it, then the vehicles body control module (BCM) will go into security lock. You will need to take it to the dealer, and get it "unlocked".
