Question about Ford E-150

1 Answer

I have a 95 ford econoline van, and one day the lights were left on so i jumped it, ran fine until the next day. It wouldn't crank so i tried jumping it again, nothing but a click. So i pulled the starter, it checked out good, when i put it back on it started fine, twice. Then when I went to drive it nothing, just a click. So I put new terminals for the battery, checked the ignition module, all connections, got it to start once more but now I'm getting nothing but the same click. Could you please help me, it would be greatly appreciated

Check the connection to the block for the ground. I have seen this two times where
the connection seemed very tight but same symptom. Take a file and file the block
and the connector and reattach it. This solved the problem.
(This happened on a Fairmont inline 6 and a mustang V-6).
Hope this helps.

Do a scan of the car computer, go to a garage and have it connected to a code reader, that will tell you what the problem is.

My 2007 dodge charger didn't crank so I jumped it

A battery from 07 is still decently new to be that bad, but I would check the alternator first, just get the car running and unhook the positive cable from the battery, if the car dies the alternator is bad.

Car won't start until jumped

Most likely the battery. Most auto parts stores will check it for free with the hopes that you will buy your replacement from them.

Just had plugs, wires and bottom gasket leak fixed. Car cranked next day, several hrs. later, wouldn't start.mechanic came and jumped it off, said alternator was getting too hot. Next day cranked, drove to...

That would make sense, because when he jumped your car if he left it hooked up for awhile. Then he charged your battery up, so it started the next day. Then you drove to his shop and back it ran the battery down. It's easy enough to test and change alternators you could take it to autozone or O'Reillys if there is one close they can test your alternator. If you have more questions about this or if you would like to try and change it yourself just reply to this post and I will walk you through it.

When the outside temperature has been above 90 degrees, and with the air running, my 1995 econoline 150 conversion van, 5.0 engine, has stalled out. on the first instance, i put the van in neutral and...

I chased a similar problem for several years. Stalled, got towed no problem found. The thing would heal and then fail at random on hot days. After checking everything electrical, fuel pump pressure etc, nothing could be found and I could not duplicate the problem. One day after being towed to a shop again, van started and would not fail but this time I had the mechanic put a clear by pass line along with a pressure gauge and I monitored the flow for about forty five minutes. Suddenly I started to see a stream of air bubbles and the pressure began to drop until the engine shut off. It was the FUEL PUMP all along and no one was able to determine that w/ all the test equipment. Went to Kragen Auto, now Oriely's and got a fuel pump. Had the shop drop the tank and install it. Have never had a problem again. Don't worry about what the mechanics tell you that it is not. Change the fuel pump
