This is a common issue with Ford products of this year. There is a switch in the door that is faulty, and will need to be replaced. It acts like a door jam switch, and that turns on the lights, activates the locks, and signals you when the door is ajar. You will have to remove the door panel to access it, and it may be a dealer item only.

Door ajar alarm is on constantly when dash lights dimmer is on. Turn to off and alarm stops

Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that's good with automotive electrical problems . Checking for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes would be a good first step . The GEM - generic electronic module is fords BCM - body control module . There is a door ajar switch located in each door , when a door is open the GEM module detects this an turns on the alarm (chime ,bing or what ever noise yours makes ) Also turns on the little car symbol showing a particular door as being open . You could have a GEM module problem , Or you could go to Find wiring diagrams an try to trouble shoot this yourself. Go on youtube an watch videos on basic electrical trouble shooting , how to read a wiring diagram . Plus check out some repair videos door ajar switch problems !

My 2002 Ford explorer xlt just got a new transfer case and we replaced the door locks because the door ajar light wouldn't go off and the scanner still wont work on the ABS and whatever is hooked to that...

I'm not quite sure all that you are asking...but for the door ajar, here are some links with people with same problem:

You can get great repair videos for most things on YouTube, since just about every problem in history has a video made of it, so check out your other problems on there

Why does my door locks keep jumping up and down when I'm driving in my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT

This could be the door switches that are wearing out. IT could also be the relay that is bad. In rare cases it is the electrical control module.

My 2002 ford explorer xlt v6 has a problem and I need to know where to find my fuse to the door ajar. Where is it located

If the lights are staying on, including the door ajar light, and you know the doors are shut, it is most likely the switch which is locate inside the receiver part of the latch. Give it a few good spray with WD-40, open and close a few times and it should take care of the issue. I use to sell the switches by the dozens when I worked at the Ford dealership until someone told me to try this. Not sure if it is gumming or corosion build up or if it just cleans the sensors. If it doesn't fix it, your local Ford dealer will most likely have the switch in stock. If you still need the fuse location, it should show in the owner's manual. Good luck.

03 gmc 2500hd 6.0 gas. truck is going crazy

Check door switch connection and operation.
If the door switch is part of the door lock mechanism, within the door itself, then remove door panel, disconnect the mechanism's electrical connector and re-check that the interior light no longer comes on with that door ajar. If it doesn't, then you likely have a faulty door lock mechanism, which you will have to replace.
This faulty switch will also have the affect on your random central locking function.

This is not likely connected to the engine performance issue.

My door ajar light and beep keep randomly going off while driving with all doors shut completely.

either a door sensor is bad or a door latch is loose. you can take it to a ford dealership and they can look up which door is setting it off. Just double check the rear truck door and also the window in the rear door if thats on a latch.

Explorer alarm going off randomly; additional electrical isues

Open drivers door and look at the hinge area. You will see a black rubber accordion looking tube going from the door to the a-pillar. This is the protector for the wiring harness. Wiggle it and see if this recreates your concern. If it does then pop it loose at both ends so you can inspect the wiring.Check each one carefully, feel them and tug on them. You will be looking for one that the wire inside the wiring insulation has broken, the two wires to really look at closley are the YE/BK and BK .
It may also possibly be a door ajar switch sticking and for this take some WD40 and shoot some in each latch on the side of the door and open and close the door several times and this usually un-sticks it.
