The ECM (electronic control module) houses all of the injection software and is located behind the drivers side kick panel in the upper corner closest to the firewall.

My 2008 Trailblazer has OBD-II code P2430. How do I replace the secondary air injection pump?

This code doesn't mean to replace the air pump ,
DTC P2430 : Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Pressure Sensor Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The secondary air injection (AIR) system aids in the reduction of hydrocarbon emissions during a cold start. The system forces fresh filtered air into the exhaust stream in order to accelerate the catalyst operation. An electric air pump, the secondary AIR injection pump, provides filtered air on demand to the AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly. The AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly controls the flow of air from the AIR pump to the exhaust manifold. The AIR solenoid relay supplies the current needed to operate the AIR control solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly. A pressure sensor is used to monitor the air flow from the AIR pump. The engine control module (ECM) supplies the internal pressure sensor with a 5-volt reference, an electrical ground, and a signal circuit.

I have a 2002 LS, and my "service engine soon " light is on. I have read that it could be the secondary air injection pump. Could someone please tell me where it is located, and if there is a...

The Service Engine Soon light could be on because of literally hundreds of different reasons. Most of the 2002 Buick Regals are not even equipped with a secondary air injection pump. (The only ones that have them are California emmissions cars) What fault code are you trying to diagnose? Knowing this would make a huge difference in how you go about trying to diagnose and fix it. You didn't mention it, but I am assuming you are talking about a 3.8L V-6 Engine? (Engine size is nice-to-know information if you are trying to diagnose an engine control problem) Also, if you are going to try and diagnose a secondary air injection system, you will need a scanner that has the capability of enabling computer outputs. This is necessary to turn the pump circuit and the injection solenoid circuit on and off to verify what the problem is.

If your Regal is equipped with an air injection pump, it will be located under the car between the front bumper area and the left wheel house. You will have to remove the left front wheel and the left wheel house liner to access it.

Can I remove the fuel gauge from another complete fuel pump assembly and put it on my fuel pump assembly? That is all that is wrong with my fuel pump assembly and a mechanic gave me a used fuel pump a

Yes, if it is mounted to the tank the same way and is from the same type fuel injection system. By same type I mean "port fuel injection" or "throttle body injection". Your system is "port fuel injection" so the used one has to be from a "port fuel injection" system. Also is the tank that the used one is coming out of the same size as yours? If it doesn't hold the same amount of gallons the gas gauge might be wrong. Make sure the the electrical connectors are the same on both assy"s. Hope this helps you out. Good luck.

Would a bad crank sensor cause car to loose power? I went over a speed bump and car just stopped

Actually, On 2006 vehicles the camshaft position sensor senses the TDC point of the number one cylinder, on its compression stroke. Its signal is relayed to the ECM to be used to determine the sequence of fuel injection. The Crank sensor is used to determine RPM ranges The crankshaft position sensor consists of a magnet and coil. The voltage signal from the sensor is relayed to the ECM to indicate engine rpm and the position of the crankshaft. This sensor wouldn't affect your performance but, the Cam sensor will if its damaged. To answer you question correctly, it would be the cam sensor i would check. it actually controls the injection system. if damaged, it will cause performance issues. On 2006 vehicles the crankshaft position sensor is located next to the radiator hose inlet and outlet assembly. On 2006 vehicles, the camshaft position sensor is located on top of the engine, on the engine head cover.

It depends on the type of injection system your Astro has. If it has a Throttle body injection system, the injector is in the assembly on top of the engine on the intake manifold. If it has multi-point injection, it should have multiple injectors connected to the fuel rails on the manifold.
