99 ford escort running hot . i replaced the thermostat. flushed the radiator . had the synsors checked . no leaks no noice. is it my radiator?

You may need your radiator rodded and cored. But, before you do that check the relay that controls when your electric fan engages to pull air through your radiator. The sensors that control the electric fan are usually in the side tanks on the radiator. This sensor heats up and tells the fan when it needs to make the electrical connection to engage the fan to cool the radiator coolant. I would probably bet that is what is malfunctioning. They are a relatively inexpensive part. Good luck.

Where is the thermostat on a 97 ford escort?

Open the hood. Find the biggest hose coming off the radiator and follow it to where it goes into the engine block. Right there where it goes in is the thermostat housing. There are probably 3 or 4 bolts holding the housing on. Remove those bolts. (You will have radiator fluid running all over, so you may want to put a catch pan under the front of the car). The thermostat is right inside the housing. Once replaced, you may need to replace some water or radiator fluid.

Engine overheating

If the water pump is pumping you should be able to see moving water/engine coolant in the radiator when the radiator cap is removed and the thermostat is open.
Have you checked to see if your electric cooling fan is operating properly?
