Hi

Typically an O/D light that stays on or flashes without being pressed indicates failure codes being present for your transmission. Meaning something is occurring that is not right and you should have a diagnostic test performed. This light indicates a transmission issue - and there is stored information in the engine's processor that will help diagnose the problem. It will need to be tested to find out what failure codes are in memory. This will give a clue to a technician on what functions to look into.

Transmission fluid land rover freelander 2002

Your going to have to go to a repair or trans shop for that,
unless you have the tools & auto knowledge, to be working
on them

There is no stick or filler tube

Most transmissions made in the last ten years,
require getting under the body & removing plugs
with special tools

Metric Hex Drivers,Basic Allen or Metric Allen Drivers
or Torx Driver Bits, to check or fill

They can also require a certain trans fluid temp & even
the use of a professional scan tool, to look at temp before
checking & after changing fluid

Non of that requires a dealer

There is nothing that is sealed

ALL transmissions require the fluid be changed
every 3 years or they will fail

Yours takes special fluid

You will have to research the type & avail,
& it won't be cheap, when you own an expensive
& not so common vehicle, euro especially will eat
you alive in parts & service

Why is a red check trans light flashing on 2005 rodeo, drives ok light flashes all the time

I wouldn't be using any vehicle with transmission issues

May have ruined it already, just using it a few miles-- verse--
actually checking for codes, diagnosing them & making the
required repairs,as with all vehicle issues & all dash lights
that stay on, after your motor is running

Reset for traction control. had car on lift running. couldve caused it?

Use your scan tool or code reader to clear all data

Running a vehicle on a lift will sometimes ruin the
planetaries in the trans & I never like to run any vehicle
in gear with drive axles & independent suspension with
it hanging

I just had the transmission fluid and filter changed on my 2002 lincoln ls now the vehicle is overheating very quickly, what could be the problem?

Check for obd2 codes & see if the trans temp
sensor shows up
If you had the trans fluid then you got problems
& may have to change the trans solenoid pack
If your asking about the motor then it is a different
unrelated issue

check transmission fluid level when hot, engine running in neutral.fluid should be reddish in color, should not smell burnt.
trans fluid & filter should be replaced at +/- 100k miles.

My check trans temp light is on &tow haul light flashing

What vehicle is it on? The super duty pickups had this problem and it is a bad temp sensor in the transmission. It is easy to replace you just have to drop the tranny pan. The gasket is reuseable.

In my Grand Marquis 1999 while i am driving suddenly o/d off light is flashing what is the problem, is that possible to be transmission oil ? thanks

Not the trans fluid

Oil only cools, lubes & applies pressure to
the clutch drums & bands

You change trans & power steering fluid
every 3 years or 30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

Changing trans fluid DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING

You have to have the OD light issue diagnosed

O/d light and trans temp ligt come and when i check it i had a code of p0713 come up what does that mean

I beleive it is a transmission sensor code. I maybe incorrect, but I believe changing the transmission filter & fliud can eleminate this code. not positive though..

Where is a dipstick for the automatic transmission fluid level located on 2006 Torrent

there is no dipstick. the fluid must be checked from under the vehicle. fluid must be at 209* f.
or trans will be overfilled. there is a plug on the right end of the trans( 7/16" )& must be removed with engine running, if at proper temp & fluid comes out then trans is full.
