The winshield wipers on my 2002 montana are not moving. The motor works but wipers do not move. I can tighten the screw in the middle but there appears that there should be one ot two pins inserted vertically through the two or three plates. The top plate has a center hole for the hex screw and two other holes - one just off center and the second one on the outside edge. A second lower plate has a counter clockwise curved slot from the interior to the ouside edge. There is a bottom plate as well. A loose pin was found partially inserted into one of the top plate holes. The pin can be inserted all the way through the three plates - top outside hole, curved slot middle plate and the bottom plate, however, there is nothing to keep in place - seems to be missing a retaining clip. Sounds like to me that part is just worn out and you should just replace the whole unit and be done with it.

Motor that moves the windshield wiper on the drivers side of our 2000 Ponitica Montana stopped working, I have been told that this part will cost me 300.00 dollars. I can not afford that, can you help me?

If the wiper on the passengers side is working normally and only the drivers side is not working. Then it is not the motor because there is only one motor and it works both sides. What you need to do is remove the drivers side wiper and clean the splines on the wiper transmission and reinstall the wiper and tighten it down. The hardest part is usually getting the wiper off.But if yours is not moving then it should come right off.All you need is a 13mmwrench or socket to remove the nut that holds the wiper on.You can do this yourself and it will cost nothing. The usual problem is they just come loose.Hope this helps.Good luck.

While wipers off in parked position, remove wiper arm and re-position arm to correct stowed position.
Re-tighten any wiper arm attachment nuts/screws etc.
Check wiper attachment arm for damage or cracks at the spigot mount. Replace if damaged.

You likely don't need a new motor. You just have to get your wipers repacked with grease.

1998 buick regal winsheild wipers will not sit in theoff position wipe winshield one last time comes back up and stops in middle of windshield

Does the wiper still make noise like it is trying to go? If so open the cap where is attached and tighten the nut on the wiper. If does not make noise you will need a wiper motor.
