To reset the timeing tou will have to have the vehicle running. you will need to get a timming light. loosen your distributer so you can turn it but DO NOT turn it until your are ready. on the timming light you will have a camp running on one wire and a gun with a light in it. hook the clamp up to your number one spark plug wire. On your vehicle under the hood it should say on a sticker what the timing should be set at EX:
have someone start the car and point the timming light towards the crank. there should be some marking on it that you will be able to see with the timming light. there should be a needle pointing at one of the numbers. after you find what number your vehicle is supposed to be set turn the distributor one way or the other until the needle points to the setting you need. after that hold the distributor in place and tighten it back up. than see what you have from there.

Have an 1992 Mazda mx3 and how do I know if my timing belt and water pump changed

Good mechanics will write the date changed on the timing belt cover. Most will not. Other than that, really no good way to tell. When in doubt, change them--cheap peace of mind.

Hello I have a 1993 Mazda mx3 gs 1.8L. For the life of me I can not find a serpatine belt diagram for this car. Please HELP???

your best bet is to purchase service manual from Autozone, Advance, auto parts stores. They handle Haynes & Clymers manuals (they run about $10) or Amazon, Barnes & Noble. I checked online and you're right it's a mystery why the Mazda forums lack that info...

Had a timing belt put on recently on a 1994 mazda b2300 and now the water pump is pouring out water would it be from anything when he did the timing belt ?

Not directly related just time for the pump to go. It has to do with the engine running so long with the old belt tension then a little extra tension when one readjust the belts on the pump and the seal wears. NOW if he did not put the gaskets back new or if he did not clean off the old gaskets before he installed new. That would be his fault. Loose bolts or broken bolts thats his fault. Look for a lot of gasket glue. Too much glue can cause a coolant leak. Look close for these signs. If the pump is leaking from the weep hole, it just is worn out.

1994 4 door mazda 626 need to locate where the water pump is on this car

The water pump is located at the front of the engine ( where the timing belt is) To replace it you will need to remove the timing belt covers and the belt. If you have not tackled this sort of problem before i would recommend you purchase a workshop manual ( Haynes or similar) and that will show you the correct way to do it. Best of luck.

Timing belt/waterpump

usually a good time to change it is at about 100,000 miles. change it before it becomes a must or not ride(type of thing). if your water pump is run by your timing belt, then yes you should change the water pump when you do the timing belt. the tension from the new belt will sooner than later kill the bearing in the old water pump and it will cost you twice to fix it versus the one time fix. when you go in to the shop there should be no additional cost to replace the timing belt because it has to come off to replace the water pump.
