Question about 2002 Chevrolet Prizm

1 Answer

I purchased a 2002 Prizm from someone that smoked and I have tried everything to get rid of the "cigerette smell"--Does the inside cabin of this car have a filter? If it does, where is it? Do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of this cigeretee smell? Thank you, for your advice--Jack at(jackwestjw@cox.net)

Why do I keep smelling car exhaust fumes when there aren't any

I had that issue with a car I used to own, the problem was that the exhaust system was very old and rusty, some places had leaks and somehow the fumes managed to get in the cabin, colorless CO and CO2, if that's the case, very dangerous situation because can cause you to faint and lose control of vehicle or can also poison you.... another possibility is that maybe your cabin air filter is very dirty with smoke and then you smell inside the car.

Smells like something dead inside 2009 mountaineer. Worse when ac is turned on. Have removed everything from car and vaccumed. Just started suddenly. We live in country and suspicious for mouse,...

o god, try looking at cabin box filter. The only thing really is to remove the dash and all heater tubes and vents. I hope its easeir than this for you though. I have a transport that mice got into the heater system and i had to strip the inside entirely except for electrical. Mind you the van had sat for about a month with a blown engine, but it took around six to eight months to rid the smell as they of course did their #s in everything let alone the smell of death. you have to find it or it gets worse. best of luck to you. Anything you remove dont forget to wash it with soap and water.

My 2003 TrailBlazer has a foul smell from the air system. What could be causing this smell? It's a sour smell not a dead animal smell. Is there a cabin air filter? I've read several posts and some say...

you can buy a deoderiser that kills all known airborn nasties, you spray it into the air inlet of any aircon unit, the only smell that it will NOT get rid of is cigarette smoke.that sticks to the filter/condenser and all the vents...nasty.

That's just the way it goes, I guess. If others are having the problem, then it may be just something that one has to get used to, short of spraying other scents or deodorizers in the cabin to get rid of the smell, apparently, at least.

I bought a used 2008 F350 previously owned by a smoker. After three professional treatments I cannot get rid of the smoke smell. Any help?

try Febreeze, spray it on EVERYTHING. under the seats, into the air vents, the visors, EVERYTHING. if air touches it, it will hold smoke smell. let it dry completely, then let someone else smell for smoke, maybe its all in your mind, heheh. enjoy your new truck....

It sounds like a pulley froze up. Pop the hood have someone start the car while you are looking at the pulleys, you should be able to see the problem.
