if I hear you right,it will run while cranking and then it shuts off when you let go of the key?if so it is the ignition switch electrical portion if your any good w/electrical here is a diagram of the switch have a good day DB
The stud cover is the hub and you cant get it out because its pressed into the wheel bearing that it attached to the spindle,you can rent a slide hammer that bolts up to the hub and slam away,but you have to have it pressed back in. so remove the spindle mark strut holddown bolts so your alingment isnt too far off.hope this helps let me know if you need more info or diagrams have a good day DB
