You might want to replace plugs and drive a tank of fuel (and your cleaners) through it.

Car idles little rough but when put in gear really starts running lot rougher like wants cut out seam to start doing this after I typed off fuel tank

hate to tell you this but sounds like you filled up with bad gas , gas contains methanol , and ethanol both of these are types of alcohol , alcohol absorbs moisture (water) at a rate of 1oz per hour depending on the percentage of alcohol in the fuel or octane rating if the fuel sits in the tank at a station the longer it sits the badder it gets, to fix this you can do a few things, you can go to a local parts store purchase a fuel filter, and a good octane booster and fuel additive, pour both the fuel additive and booster in the tank and change your fuel filter after you burn that tank of gas.or you can find a repair shop that uses a decarbonization process to clean your fuel system, unless your vehicle is running bad enough where you can't drive it, then you need to drain your tank take it out of the car clean it out with rags and put fresh fuel back in it also replacing the fuel filter

Run out of gas and put some watery gas in the tank, it cut off 3mins later

Just plain silly. Remove gas tank, drain and dry. Replace fuel filter. Fill gas tank with 5 gallons of fresh gas. Add a bottle of water remover to tank then start and drive. Good luck.

REPLACE FUEL FILTER & AD A FEW BOTTLES OF DRY GAS TO YOUR FUEL TANK ALONG WITH ADDING A TANK OF FRESH GAS AS WELL.THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM & ALSO THE LIGHT MIGHT NEED TO BE RESET AS WELL BY THE COMPUTER RESETTING PROCEDURE.IF THIS CONTINUES TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE AS WELL.

98 chevy blazer starts then dies out

DROP THE TANK & REMOVE ALL OF THE WATERED DOWN GAS FROM THE TANK.USE DRY GAS IN THE TANK AS WELL & A LOT OF FRESH GAS IN THE FUEL TANK & CLEAN UP THE FUEL SYSTEM ON THE TRUCK ALONG WITH REPLACING THE FUEL FILTER BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE FULL OF WATER FROM BEING FLOODED OUT.ALSO DRAIN THE OIL & REPLACE BOTH OIL FILTER & OIL TOO WHILE YOU'RE @ IT.CHECK OVER ALL OF YOUR ELECTRICAL WIRING & OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE ELECTRICAL AS WELL LIKE THE STARTER / ALTERNATOR / PLUG WIRES / SPARK PLUGS / YOUR TRUCK BATTERY AS WELL WILL NEED TO BE CHECKED & REPLACED IF HAS SHORTED OUT.EVEN YOUR EXHAUST SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE CHECKED & REPLACED IF THERE IS WATER INSIDE IT AS WELL BECAUSE THAT TOO WOULD CAUSE IT STALL OUT IF THERE IS NO AIR FLOW FROM THE ENGINE TO THE TAIL PIPE.ALSO REPLACE THE AIR FILTER AS WELL IN CASE IT IS EITHER CLOGGED OF WATER LOGGED FROM BEING IN DEEP WATER.
REMEMBER IF ALL ELSE FAILS TO CORRECT IT YOU NEED TO GET IT TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR A COMPLETE CHECK OUT & ALSO TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT.

My Volvo S70 was running fine until my gas light came on and I parked the car, assuming I could get gas later. When I got in my car, it started sputtering and would cut off. Had the fuel filter replaced,...

OK this can't be a definite but I've seen similar & I want to share this with you. First, realizing the age of the fuel tank I have to imagine that there is a lot of small particles that have accumulated over the years that are inside the fuel tank. That is not unusual & is why you have a fuel filter on the fuel lines, to trap debris, otherwise a filter on the inlet to the tank would be fine.

Regardless, when the tank got extremelhy low, the sediment got sucked into the filter/sock that is mounted at the base of the fuel pick-up in your fuel tank at the lowest possible point. This tends to also cause the pumps to quit working either immediately, or soon after. I've replaced many fuel pumps & cleaned many tanks, this could be the issue. Really, other than refueling the car & putting in some fuel injector/carb cleaner that could possibly aid in removing the buildup on the in tank filter, replacemen may be necessary if it doesn't free up. I have always suggested that those with Fuel Injuected cars never go below 1/4 tank due to this specific problem. Good Luck.

Water in your gas

Hi. You are correct, water in the tank can produce this type of interruption in normal operations. Water will choke the system and cause stalls and rust within the lines as well. You can purchase an fuel additive that can remove this water from the tank. Its available at your local auto parts store. I recommend (TECHTRON GAS TREATMENT). It will clean the lines and remove the water. Now, if you continue to experience this hesitation and stalling, you may have an issue with other components of the fuel system. Theses additional problems can be a faulty fuel pump or a clogged filter. I would check these areas if the stalling continues after using the fuel additive.

Please rate and god bless.

under the drivers door with a bracket holding the filter on. Be carful some of them have clips holding fuel lines on. might have to tak tank off, but that might lead to a leaking tank, straps a hole lot of mess. Best way is to take off filter, leave off put rubber hose on fuel line and put into a fuel can turn on the key and wait to empty.hope not to much gas in tank.

Fuel system problem

ARE YOU SURE YOU REPLACED ALL THE FUEL FILTERS? SOMETIMES THE CAR MAKERS LIKE TO STICK A FUEL FILTER INSIDE THE FRAME BACK BY THE FUEL TANK, ALSO 93 WAS STILL CARB. RIGHT. WHAT ABOUT DRAINING THE FLOAT BOWLS OF ALL THE WATER AND DIRT IN THEM? AND DO THEY HAVE INLET FILTERS ALSO? WORST CASE HOW ABOUT THE IN FUEL TANK FILTER. THIS WOULD BE ABOUT RIGHT FOR THEM TO ACT UP WITH WATER AND DIRT.IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE A FUEL PROBLEM WITH WATER CLOGGING A FILTER AND CUTTING OFF GAS MOMENTARILY. TIME TO CHACE THESE DOWN ONE BY ONE. LEAVE THE FUEL TANK FILTERS TILL LAST, THE'RE NASTY TO DO. UGG! HOPE THIS GIVES YOU SOME IDEAS AND IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO:ARCLIGHT1217
