First disconnect battery, and before you drop tank check under rear carpet for an access panel (above tank) many newer vehicles have access panels just for this replacement. Other than that pretty straight forward.

How do you remove a fuel pump on a 97 plymouth grand voyager

    • 1 Make sure the engine is completely cool. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Elevate the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a jack.
    • 2 Disconnect the fuel line from the front of the tank. Remove the ground strap, the inboard side fuel tank straps and the front T-strap fastener, then lower the tank approximately six inches.
    • 3 Take the fuel lines from the fuel pump module. Plug the fuel lines with golf tees to prevent the spillage of gasoline. Remove the fuel filter.
    • 4 Install the new fuel filter. Set the bolts in place and torque them to 40 inch/pounds. Tighten the main tank straps to 40 foot/pounds and the T-strap to 250 inch lbs.
    • 5 Reconnect the fuel lines in the reverse order of their removal. Lower the vehicle. Connect the negative battery cable.
    • 6 Start the engine and let it run for several minutes. Inspect the fuel lines for any leaks.

Need to replace fuel pump on 1988 plymouth voyager how do I get to it

You'll need to disconnect battery, disconnect filler tube, fuel lines, wiring connectors at tank, and remove straps, to lower tank, and it's in the tank.(from top) Try to get fuel level as low as possible, or empty, and have something, or someone under there to help support tank when ready to remove straps and lower it.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 chrysler grand voyager 3.3 liter v6

Commonly the fuel filter is in the tank and is good for 100k miles. You can call your local part store for a fuel filter listing but they will probably tell you that there isn't one.

I need to change the fuel pump on a 1997 plymouth voyager van

To do this you'll need to remove the gas tank, (if you can) run the van near empty. The tank is located on the passenger side. Start by Placing the van on jack stands, remove the battery ground, and you'll need to remove all of the wiring and fuel hoses to and from the tank with fuel filler inlet too. If my memory serves there are two large bands which hold the tank in place, these will have to be removed and carefully lower the tank. The fuel pump access is a large nut, of sort, on the top side of the tank. With care using a strap wrench you can loosen this retainer and then carefully remove the fuel pump with the sending unit.
I hope this may have assited you.

Changing fuel pump on chrysler 2000 grand voyager

you have to drop the gas tank out from under the vehicle. You must first drain as much gas out of the tank as you can. Then support the tank with a jack. Preferably with a large plate. Then remove the retaining straps. If you can remove any of the fuel lines and fill nozzle before lowering please do. If you cannot, lower the tank until access to wiring harness and fuel line disconnects can be made. With a special fuel line tool remove lines and harness and anything else that may hinder the removal on the tank. Once the tank is out from under the vehicle remove as much dust and debris as you can fom the top of the unit. Remove the retaining ring using a hammer and a punch, or screwdriver. Once the retaining ring has been removed carefully remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank. be careful not to damage the float. replace pump in the reverse order above.

Need to remove the fuel tank

Yow! that's not going to be fun. Obviously rust etc, and dirt collected while sitting, and yes I'd be doing the same before anything else. That said, You just might have to figure out a way to lower that tank enough to get sender/pump assy, out enough to stick a siphon hose in there and try to transfer some fuel that way, unless you know where you can borrow a small pump for transferring fuel. Only other option would be to fabricate a good base to balance tank on a floor jack, when straps are off, lower it slow and wheel it out slow. I've had to do it before, so it can be done. An extra set of hands don't hurt when your ready to come out.
