Question about Nissan Pickup

1 Answer

I have 2009 D22 double cab it has done 43 000Km, however I have two concerns. The first is noisy tappets usually only when the vehicle has been standing for a day or two, however it only lasts for a few minutes. Can you recomend any solution? The second concern is it has developed a vibrating noise around the front passenger fire wall area, I can't find any thing loose or broken , and it only tends to make the vibrating noise between 2000-3000 rpm, regardless if the vehicle is moving or stationary any ideas? Thank you

If the vehicle has had proper oil changes, the noisy valve lifters may the oil filter. If the anti-drainback valve is defective and the filter is at an angle,it may take a few extra seconds to refill before can supply the engine with normal oil pressure.
Also,at the last oil change, has the proper oil viscosity been used?
The noise at the dash is usually a hose.Have someone move the hoses a little while you sit inside and listen for changes in that noise at 2000 to 3000 rpm.As it becomes quiet, adjust the hose or whatever that new position.

SOURCE: noise & vibration in front end

The ole vibration ford problem. Here is what you should do. Go to the local auto parts store, Advance, Napa, Auto Zone, they all have one and get a for sale sign. The best thing you can do is unload it and do as I did......never buy another one. I head "ford tuff" so I thought I would give it a try. Boy was that a mistake. I don't know how they ever get repeat customers.

you can also check if your wheel alingment is out, this can cause the same noise,if when you are driving on a straight road the steering look off center then have your alignment check.if you recently did the front struts that can cause the alignment to go out

SOURCE: 2000 Audi A4 Quattro Passenger Side Power Window...

Ok you have either one of two main problems with it.
1. does it go in one direction only then jams the other way?
Ans. the plastic clips that hold the window to the lifting rail can break.
these can be replaced by removing the door trim & replacing though you will need torx type tools.
2. As with vw golfs & passets the motors pack up or even the wire can break on some of them.
Ans. replace the motor unit in the door or the cable & rail.

3. It is heardly heard tell of but the only other problem is that one of the wires in the hinge area to the door has broken.

4. we have had this one a few times but this would also include the interior lights & central locking not working as well as the windows.
The central convenience unit under the passenger foot well can go wonky & needs to be replaced, usually caused by water coming in through the heaters air filter when the water is trapped in the front of the car ( caused by rotten leaves stuck in the drain points & also happens to the A6 models )

I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE ENGINE. Found no bulletins for noise concern
Intake tappet clearance should be .006"-.010" and
Exhaust clearance should be .010"-.014"

tappets cannot be tight and noisy at the same time . Check the rocker and rocker shaft for wear in the shaft and rocker bushes.

Valve adjustment ohc

this vehicle should have hydraulic followers / lifters in which case the adjustment is done automatically and hydraulically. If you have noisy tappets it is more likely worn rocker bushes and worn rocker shaft that is causing the noise.

Where is the fuse box located in a 2009 Routan?

Usually, as a rule of thumb, there is a fuse panel in the cab of a vehicle, and one under the hood. the one in the cab is in the dash, usually pulled down by a lever or handle, or sometimes even concealed by a plate. the one under the hood is labeled "electrical panel" or something of the like.

I need the tappet setting code for a 1995 ford econovan.tappets are noisy.

There's NO code for noisy lifters. Depending on miles and previous maintenance (oil changes, etc) your lofters are probably worn. They need to be replaced and you might have an oil pressure test done to make sure there's is adequate oil pressure.

Ford Ranger diesel has noisy tappets until truck

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

I drove a diesel Chevy and had the same problem.

I reduced the noise by dropping my oil to a lower viscosity at the low end and keeping the high end the same. i.e. If O.E.M. recommends a 10W30 dropped to a 5W30. This will give you coverage at the high side and lower viscosity at the low end.

There are after market additives which are formulated to lubricate the tappets. Any parts store should be able to recommend which is best. Follow the instructions and do not add too much. They contain a "sticky" nature which could defeat the dropping of your lower viscosity.

I trust this answered your question. If I can be of further help, let me know.
