If the CD is running quite fine with the battery and the fault occurs ONLY when the car engine is started then you need to check on the alternator for transients voltage or poor rectification.
However the CD can shut off if there is problems in the circuit or the failure to read.
I hope you can shed some more light on the fault experienced after ensuring that the set works with the battery.

Cold start the car- lights power dims- fires up but will shut down other electical systems

Go to Advance auto and they will test your battery and alternator for free. It sounds like a bad alternator.

1986 Thunderbird, cd player keeps cutting off. Is this power problem?

No that sounds like the player is just old and most likely needs the tiny drive belts replaced.

When driving the radio died then the car died wouldnt start again wont even turn over

It sounds like your alternator went bad. The alternator is responsible for keeping your battery charged and at full power. If it goes bad, your battery eventually drains and things start to shut down.
Get your alternator and battery tested, I'm sure you'll find the alternator has died.

YUKON CD PLAYER NO SOUND!

Is your IP Bus cable on the INPUT and not the OUTPUT ? I know it sounds funny, but usually(95%), that's the case. If it's in the wrong plug, you'll have power and a display, but no audio. That's why your getting data but no audio.

My Car has killed four batteries and I can not determine why. Any ideas?

It is either two things, 1st you might have a parasitic drain in the vehicle. Check for Lights left on such as a glove box or cig. lighter, aftermarket cd player or amplifier. or 2nd you might have a bad alternator, and it does not charge the battery

My radio is trippen

Humm, does it give you an error also... like "E01" for example? well actually it doesn't matter because if the radio works fine with volume, it's going to be in the audio unit. Acura's with this particular radio unit has many, many CD player problems. you can have it repaired at a great expense or just replace it with a nice aftermarket radio instead. It's up to you...but it's going to be in the audio unit its self.

Good luck and hoped it helped.

I have no idea

the cd player you are running is probably too much for the alternator that's in the car, especially if it won't start now... take the car in and have them check out the alternator... get this replaced if needed... if you can't do this, simply remove the cd player you installed and see if this fixes the problem... if so... take the cd player in to a certified pro and have them install it for you so you don't have to splice any bad wires and your car will continue to run.

hope this helps :)
