I would start by pulling turn signal bulbs and clean sockets of any moisture or corrosion. Also, if equipped with trailer wiring check for corrosion there also.

your turn signal issue is very common even though you hazards do work they are on a different line connector in the relay that is also your turn signal relay. replace that hazard relay that should solve that problem. the c/v joints can be about 500 all the way up to almost 1000. depending on if you need the whole joint or just the boot kit. usually if you replace both joints they should swap your joints from right to left. which will make the clicking stop sometimes but if the damage is so bad that there are divots in the joint where the balls move you will need to replace both joints. and to be very honest going with after market c/v axles which allot of private shops do i have never seen one work without issues. not balanced right. as far as your transmission if you are low on transmission fluid due to an impact on your transmission pan that could cause that problem or if you have a shift solenoid going bad which can be very expensive. good luck hope that helped.

Flash signal

Check Under the Hood for the Fuse Relay Box. This should have the Flash Module in it. The Diagram is inside the Cover for the Box. If not there, Look under the Dash on the Left of the Steering Column and see if there is not a Panel under there that has a Small Circle and Square at the Top of the Panel, Turn the Flashers on and you will be able to here the Correct Box Ticking in Sequence with the Blinkers. Replace this Box. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Flash signal

Hi,

To my knowledge the turn signal flasher for a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero is part of the Hazard Flashing switch. It is actually a 4 way flasher unit in one assembly.

Additionally, there was a recall order for 1999-2002 Alero models due to electrical issues which includes signal lights. You can try calling Oldsmobile at 1-800-630-6537. The Ref. No. is 04098A issued Jan. 11, 2006. Accordingly, the repairs will be made at no charge to the customer. The special policy covers warranty repair (for such problems) for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km), whichever occurs first.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
