You may need to test for a parasitic power drain, for example a horn switch that is stuck closed causing the horn relay switch to stay on continuously even if the wire was unplugged from the horn.

You will need multimeter to test for a parasitic power drain.

1. With the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Connect the black multimeter test lead to the negative battery post, connect the red test lead to the negative battery cable.
3. With the meter set to the DC milli-amps scale note the current draw displayed. If it is over 20 mA, there is likely something drawing power that shouldn't be.
4. Leaving the meter connected have an assistant pull fuses one at a time (replacing them before pulling the next) until the meter reading drops. The circuit that this fuse powers is where the problem most likely is.

After engine has cooled check that alternator is not warm.. if so change alternator.. I find bad alternators many times.. check cigerette lighters trunk lights glove box lights... if all else fails un hook battery connect OHM meter between battery and cable if drowing currant will show on meter remove fuses one at a time and you should be able to pinpoint currant draw

I'd have battery load tested before pointing finger at internal draw. Batteries as they age don't charge as deeply as they once did. Load test your battery (any good parts store can do it for free.)

check transmission fluid level and condition. sounds like there may be a problem with the transmission shift drums/bands. these have a problem with the trans wearing out causing shift type problems. have the trans checked by a tranny shop.

Fuse 8 on 1990 allante is drawing down the battery. will completly drain battery in 2 days

Have you checked BCM input parameter BI61? That is the most common cause of the 2-3 day battery drain. Have you tried pulling fuse #8 under the ash tray for the CPS to see if that stops the drain? You can pull one of the plugs off the AC blower control module to isolate that. If you can not hear the blower motor running with the key off, that probably is not an issue.

Same car same problem, but I found the plug w/two wires behind the glove box. It is on a brace on the left hand side, has a clip holding it there. Lift up on the clip and it slides off.
I jumpered those two wires, the door locks did not cycle as was in the instructions and remote still doesn't work.
Sounds to me like I'm missing power from somewhere, but where?
Hope you find your wires and they work for you.

Battery may go dead overnight on cars with electronic level control (1990-92).

You may want to get an auto electrician to look at it. This was a common problem
