Your security system needs reset. consult your manual or call the dealer for the specifics on your vehichle. They may reset after a while and you can try using your key FOB to turn alarm off after battery is connected.

The red light above mode button stays on after anti theft horn went crazy and I disconnected the battery now my central locking and blinkers don't work and the interior light stays on please help

Disconnect your battery, put a bulb across the battery wires for 2 minutes. Then touch the leads for 2 minutes. Leave for 2 hours. Put the key in the ignition, but not on. Connect the negative lead. Connect the positive lead in one shot, straight on no messing about. Leave vehicle for 15 minutes to reset the electronics. May be all fixed now. Let me know.

Turn key ,won't turn engine, lights stay bright, jump with spare battery car starts no prob

Check connection of battery terminals to it's related cables. Try using one of the jumper cables to connect negative of battery to chassis.if still fail, try connecting to engine block. If fail, try recharging/replacing battery. Lights may stay bright but battery may mot have enough amperage to turn starter motor.

2006 Trailblazer won't start, no dash lights and doesn't turn engine over

Get safety glasses ..,protective gloves...Disconnect battery cables..,Clean cables and inspect for wear...If you don't have proper cleaner you can pour coka cola on them to dissolve acid build up...,clean with wire brush,rag...Check battery for proper voltage...A low battery will cause this problem...Also a bad connection at battery cable endsUse a voltmeter,multimeter...etc...I have to say it's a bad battery...Make sure battery cables are good and tight without over torque.....

Horn goes off when I connected jumps leads to range rover sport 2006. I couldn't get into car as remote fobs wouldn't unlock or lock car I manage to get by using the key and doing the 151 sequence which I...

That's usually what happens when the battery has gone dead and when you are reviving it by hooking up another battery the horn goes off because it is hooked up through the car alarm. Try dissarming the alarm after you hookup the jump leads. That should work.

Check the connections on both ends of both battery cables (particularly the main negative cable to engine and body grounds) - clean and reinstall. Could also be connection going bad on the fusible link in the battery + cable, or a faulty fusible link.

Something pulling battery down on 1990 olds 98

You may need to test for a parasitic power drain, for example a horn switch that is stuck closed causing the horn relay switch to stay on continuously even if the wire was unplugged from the horn.

You will need multimeter to test for a parasitic power drain.

1. With the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Connect the black multimeter test lead to the negative battery post, connect the red test lead to the negative battery cable.
3. With the meter set to the DC milli-amps scale note the current draw displayed. If it is over 20 mA, there is likely something drawing power that shouldn't be.
4. Leaving the meter connected have an assistant pull fuses one at a time (replacing them before pulling the next) until the meter reading drops. The circuit that this fuse powers is where the problem most likely is.

2006 Elantra - air bag light came on and now stays on

When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1/2 hour prior.
