If you don't have a check engine light that's on I would try giving it a tune up.Change your plugs, wires, gas filter and air filter and see what kind of response you get from it then.

Backfires during exceleration

Tune up time or bad gas. If it's been awhile since you replaced the plugs, check them. You may also want to try adding a higher grade of gas or a bottle of octane booster.

Why when i accelerate hard the car sputters like it going to cut off

Throttle position sensor, or just dirty. Try running higher octane gas, (premium) and/or a gas treatment supplement like STP every other tankfull. High performance engines won't run right on regular gas. My mom uses premium, she gets great performance and better gas mileage in her 99 oldsmobile.

Does the 09 es350 need 93 octane gas or will it run on 87 octane

you should have a factory affixed sticker inside gas compartment cover listing premium fuel only or also listed in your owners manual. Otherwise if you notice that you're vehicle is making a pinging sound while accelerating or climbing a hill for instance then you may want to step up to 89 or 93 octane and try to avoid purchasing fuel with ethanol added it's **** and degrades your fuel quality/octane ratio

Our 2005 PT Cruiser (2Dr, 2.4L Turbo) has started stalling (but not dying) & hesitating on low to medium speed acceleration. I tried gas treatment and upgrading to a higher octane fuel but neither...

check for a check engine light. if no, have a shop clean your throttle body& Iac. or get a friend to do it or do it yourself. you need a can of throttle body cleaner.seperate intake air hose from t.b. spray half a can. start & run engine see if improves.

2001 sebring recently started sputtering at low rpms. Started after a recent fuel fillup. Tried dry gas and STP gas treatment. No change. Could this be a clogged fuel filter?

It could be but sounds like some bad gas, try using some octane boost because the gas you got might not have enough octane in it to run your car. So try using Octane boost and no its not the same as a gas treatment. gas treatment just cleans your lines and intake. Octane boost puts more octane in your fuel which is needed to run the car properly so try that.
