There is nothing called a pump rotor in this transmission pump.It has a gear type pump with and inner and outer gear. You would need to remove the pump from the front of transmission to perform this repair(suspicious that it would need pump gears and not have major internal transmission damage, never seen that in 25 years of rebuilding)but would not have to completely disassemble transmission. The filter can replaced by removing pan on bottom of transmission and the torque converter fits into the pump at the front of transmission. You would need to remove transmission from the car to install torque converter. Are you trying to fix a problem or understand a repair that has already been preformed?Let me know if I can help.Good Luck!

Depends on the gasket used, but 7 to 14 foot pounds. I just snug them up with a ratchet one hand.

Between first and second gear it shutters/vibrates

Low transmisson fluid, Transmission filter or faulty transmission pump, the pump usually will whine before it goes out tho, Im leaning towards the filter or low fluid. Check your transmission control selonoid.

How often i should change transmisson oil?

Transmission filter and fluid should be changed around every 75,000 miles. its easy to do. gasket and filter come as a kit from your local auto parts store. When filling the tranny fluid, always check your marks. Some sticks have a hot line only, and some have a cold and hot line.

Narrowing it down.

The torque converter slips more than normal only if the oil level is really low - check that. Otherwise the problem is clearly with the pressure plates - and those can be replaced, you don't need to replace the entire tranny for that.

2003 Ford Windstar.....81K miles......while cruising at top gear(D), if engine is b/w 1500-1800rpm, I get a barely noticeable "buffeting/sputtering". Within past 2 years, have had plugs/ignition...

the sreeing i would make sure belt is tight and have the power steering fluid flushed, you may what to change trany oil with a bg system flush and then after the flush replace the filter and pan gasket,as far as the sputtering it may be the trany or the engine misfiring, have the fuel preasure tested and maybe have the injectors cleaned with a motor vac service, hope this helps,

Problem shifting from second to third. Not shifting into third, RPM's just elevate. No code!

Check Fluid Levels when car is warm and running in neutral. Next, change the pan gasket and filter and fluid. NEVER let a shop do a T TECH Transmission Service. That sucks it out backwards and destroys the filter and will kill the transmission. make sure you drop the pan and replace the gasket and filter and the fluid.

Am I supposed to change the transmission filter in my 2005 equinox? If so when?

There is no service filter on your asin transmission. You can only flush the fluid. The fluid is NOT cheap. It takes a special fluid that is only, to my knowage, avalible at a dealership. The only filters in the transmission are for catastrophic failure. Meaning when the shop needs to take the transmisson apart when it fails.

Transmisson problems

Try checking the transmission fluid level first to see i it is full and then look at changing the filter and gasket on the transmission and if you still have you will need to take it to atransmission shop to have it loked at, but try the things I mentioned first okay.

What Is The Transmisson Oil Capacity For A 2002 Ford Excursion

It depends on which tranny you have and if you drain the converter or not.If you just pull the tranny pan and change the gasket and filter and you don't drain the converter if your tranny is a 4R100 it will take 6.5 quarts. If your tranny is a 5R110W it will take 7.5 quarts.
