No they will not interchange,The 92 has a hydralic transmission and the 00 has a fully electronic transmission.You would need the engine,computer,wiring harness,transmission and god knows what else to even try to make it work.Better off just rebuilding the trans in the 92(A4LD Trans) or buying a working 00 explorer and driving it.You should be able to get th 92 transmission rebuilt for about 1500 give or take.Let me know if you need me to help you locate a shop in your area through ATRA or ATSG.Good luck!

How many quarts of trans fluid does a 2000 ford explorer v6 need

Did you check your trans dip stick? The tranny dip stick usually has a quart low mark. If this is a manual tranny, that is different, you didn't specify automatic or manual tranny?
{Automatic tranny, the spec is for dry fill, only. 10--12.7 quarts . Dry fill means not a drop of tranny fluid in the vehicle.}
You have to check proper fluid level, that is your responsibility. Your owners manual may have some of this info?

When on a long trip the tranny shifts hard after driving for a while the next day its fine

being a GM 2000 model, Im sure its has many miles, correct me if im wrong. Take it to a GM facility and have the transmission flush and filter change, Older high miles car on domestic car is a common problems. If you have close or 100k miles, have those thing done ASAP. It will solve some of your problems and will give you tranny a bit longer life.dirty or clog tranny filter can cause the problems and shorten the life of the transmission. being a 2000 model, tranny filter should be change every 50k miles. Only newer model have 100k miles maintenance free transmission. hope that help some

They will fit 91-94 are pretty interchangable. You do have to take the computer with the motor.

92 blazer no reverse, other gears are fine,140k

You need to check if the gear oil is still o.k. and the oil transmission and check the release bearing if still intact.

My car doesn't change gears, it's runing in hght gear only.

you need to get a new transmission control module, i had the same problem when i bought my 92 from the auction, i wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd, so i found a rebuilt unit on the internet and it corrected the problem, you also might want to remove the excess tranny fluid that every one put's in when they have a tranny problem.
