Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type

1 Answer

I have a 2002 x type JAG 2.5. It starts at times but not always. When it does start it runs just fine. I've taken it to the dealer and other auto shops but no one can seem to find the problem. There are no warning lights on no signs of a problem everything lights up just like its on but won't start. Has anyone seen this problem? Can someone please help?

Only thing i think is maybe you have more than one key and one doesn"t have a chip cuz my car has a key that will do everything but start the vehicle....and the chipped key that does start it....just a longshot....but true none the less.

Can original touchscreen radio of 2002 jaguar x-type be replaced with newer touch screen radio

i think you can but you should check with your jag dealer to be sure, it will also need programming to the car using jag diagnostic equipment, because it is a module on the can network and the pats security system will not recognise it as belonging to the car and wont allow you to start the engine. hope this answers your question. cheers.

Suggestion for 2003 Jaguar X type and 1999 A6 Audi

Was looking at parts online and could not find a timing belt for the Jag. Did find the timing cover oil seal which makes me think it has a chain , not a belt so no worries. As always I could be wrong. The audi definitely has a belt , should be changed at 60,000 Miles / 100,000 Km. I have a passat with the 2.8 V6 and find performance is not great , nor is fuel economy.
The good and bad......... jag is newer , audi is lower mileage Both are slightly finicky and repair and maint would be more $$$ than more generic cars. Ignore carfax , it is an unreliable scam.
Take each to a mechanic of your choice for an inspection.
My personal opinion is it comes down to age. If you are over 45 go with the Jag , under 45 go with the audi. (lots of performance and apearance mods avail.)
