Question about 2000 Lincoln Continental

My 1994 Lincoln Continental acts like it is out of gas when the gauge shows it still has some. First time, it said I had 3 gallons, second time 6 gallons, today it said I had 7 gallons left. When I put in as little as 1 gallon, it will start. What could it be?

A common problem in the continental (my 95 had the same problem). You can TRY to reset the error. The link below lists step by step instructions for the error reset. Best of luck.
