A/c venting problems

Blower is on high but very little or no air is coming out of the vents

2001 Grand Cherokee. No matter where I position the vent switch or at what temperature the vents blow very little air. Motor is blowing and working it is not surging. I can see the actuator move when I select the vent settings. If it was a broken actuator or a broken door I would think it would blow out strong in one place but not anywhere else. This is just weak everywhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have almost the same problem. The passenger vents barely blow any air. The Jeep dealer replace the actuator but it didn't solve the problem. They don't even know how to the fix the problem. Has you issue been solved?

the blower motor is under the hood on the pass side. u have to remove the wiper and radiator bottles and also the head light. than take out the 7 bolts that hold the blower motor in than u have to remove the squirel cage before the motor will come out. or it could be the Blower Motor Resistor.

2000 jeep grand cherokee, only blow out a little air even when the blower on hi,,you have to put your hand next to the vent to feel the air

you may have had something fall down into the defrost vent and it has worked its way down and is blocking the air flow thats trying to come out the vents, near the blower motor.also does it sound like the blower motor is spinning on high speed or at a lower speed, you could have a slow turning blower motor.

Replaced blower motor and resistor on my 1998 oldsmobilehardly no

If the blower motor is capable of working on all the speeds but you only get wisp of air out of the vents then the fan side of the evaporator core for the a/c may be coated with crud and debris which is restricting most of the air that the blower is moving. Usually this problem comes on fairly slowly until one day it is realized that hardly any air is coming out of any of the vents even with the blower on high speed. The blower may even sound like it is working harder than it should to create this little bit of airflow. The fix for this is to remove the blower motor and look into the plastic air plenum with a mirror or flexible borescope and check the a/c evaporator for a thin coating of gray crud. If it's present then I use compressed air and a long blow nozzle [bent to get close to the core] and blow the crud loose. You may not get it all but usually you can blow out enough of it to get back 90% of your airflow. If however your blower doesn't work on every speed then you may have other electrical issues that are preventing the blower from reaching full speed.

I own a 2006 Dodge 2500 diesel and the air blows cold and when I turn it to high it sounds like its blowing high but the amount of air that should be coming out isnt. On low and med. its right, but only on...

The problem with your ac is the vent door has broken off and is blocking air from getting to the blower. To check and see if this is your problem you will need to remove the blower. The blower is located on the passenger side. You will need to remove three screws located on the blower using a 8mm socket. Once you have the blower removed reach inside and feel for the vent door. If it is broken you can remove it. However, you will need to get this fixed by a mechanic.
