My 2005 grand am is squealing badly, replaced idle pull didn't work, could crank pulley or water pump pulley be causing it

Hi Jason remove belt and turn all the pulleys by hand there must be one seizing. And check the crank pully some have a rubber damper that fails and causes the outer pully to spin on the inner one. Good Luck.

How do I get the pullies off the crank on a 94 Toyota truck? The engine is getting water in the oil and a mechanic said the water may be coming into the oil inside the timing cover. He said the timing...

Do you have the crank pulley bolt loose? To loosen it, pull the starter and wedge something against the ring gear teeth on the flywheel-I often use a piece of wood in there, although a large screwdriver or prybar would also work. Put a socket on the crank pulley bolt (use a large breaker bar) and loosen it while holding the flywheel stationary. If the pulley wont move off the crank with some tapping on it to move it, then you will have to use a puller to get the pulley off the crank. Use a harmonic balancer pulley puller, or a 2 or 3 armed puller, if the harmonic balancer puller wont work.

1996 buick skylark i see this problem all the time, it starts and then shuts off let it cool down and it starts back up only to die again.lol... been there to many time, replce the crank sensor and you sould be fine. the crank sensor is behind the crank pully, jack the car up and pull the passanger side wheel the crank pully will be right there, you may have to rent a pully puller from a part store but the job is simple

How do i replace crank sensor on 2000 olds alero 3.4 and where is it located

It depends on which crank sensor you are wanting to replace. There are two of them. The 24X sensor is located behind the front crankshaft pully and the crank pully must be removed to change it. The 7X sensor is located in the engine block on the right bank (firewall side) near the rear of the engine. This one simply pulls out of the block after disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the single bolt that holds it.

Is it possible to get a diagram of the crank sensor for the 2004 hyundai sonata

Hi, in both engines the crank sensor is at the back of the engine by the transmission. The sensor is #10 in the diagram below and looks like the picture included.

How do i know if i have my timing chain on correct?

okay first you make sure the timing marks on the pullys or gears are lineing up also you find #1 cylinder pull out spark plug place a long phillips head scew driver into the hole turn the main crank it should rise and fall get the lower part of the engine to where the scew driver stops rising and right before it falls you should be at top dead center on the lower part of the engine. turn the cam shaft till the timing mark on the pully or gear is at top dead center (TDC). but you should have timing marks on the crank shaft pully and the cam shaft gear or pully I recomend a chiltons or haynes manual so you can locate these marks.
