Question about 2005 Ford Expedition

2 Answers

I have alittle white, flat box with an electrical plug in on the side. It is mounted inside the rear interior where the back air blower is for the air. When I turn on the a/c for the back, it starts making a knocking sound. It has a number of 2L2H-19E 616-AA. Under is 264B210 041. under that is 2 pos. Looks easy to replace if I knew what it was. It only does this when the air is on and turned on with the adjustment from the overhead rear control.

If it looks simular to this it is (this one happens to be out of a gm i think but they look simular) probably the blend door actuator for the rear HVAC. It is not uncommon for the actuator to break or the shaft on the blend door that the actuator controls.

I have alittle white, flat - airjer995_54.jpg
You'll need to remove it and inspect the part that mates with the blend door to see if it is broke. Or see if the part on the blend door that mates with this piece is broke. This part can also be broken internally with no visible problems on the outside.

Sounds like it might be an inverter or a relay. You might take it off and take it to the dealer. If they can identify it you can order a new one.

How do I remove the glove box door from my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?

  • Have the air conditioning system discharged at a dealer service department or auto AC repair facility. Drain the cooling system by removing the plugs under the radiator and then the engine block, draining the coolant into a clean container. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  • 2

Disconnect the heater hoses at the engine compartment's right side at the firewall by sliding the clamps away, then plug or tape shut all the openings. Disconnect the accumulator and refrigerant lines to the AC accumulator and mounting bracket, then detach the accumulator and its mounting bracket from the firewall.

  • 3

Remove the instrument panel from inside the truck. With the front wheels turned forward and the steering column locked, remove all trim and kick panels along the door frames. Then lower the steering column and remove its covers and the instrument cluster, glove box, cup holders, all electrical connectors and panel fasteners. Lift the panel out through the front door.

  • 4

Remove the Powertrain Control Module from the engine. Carefully disconnect the three to four electrical connectors on the module, then remove the module's mounting bolts.

  • 5

Disconnect the two nuts on the studs mounting the heater unit in the engine compartment. Disconnect the electrical connector to the blower motor resistor from the interior of the truck along with the connector and vacuum hoses from the heater unit. Remove the mounting nuts and bolt to the unit from the interior and remove the heater unit.

  • 6

Remove the two retaining screws on the heater core, located at the top of the two lines on the core that form a triangle. Pinch the release tabs on the upper corners of the heater core and lift the core from its housing

    (1) possible blown fuse.
Note that fuses blow for a reason - seek out the reason, or it will blow its new fuse too.

The main fuse block is located inside the left side of the engine compartment near the battery. There is also an interior fuse panel located just above the left side kick panel.

    Interior Fuse Panel
The interior fuses simply unplug from the fuse panel. Use the fuse puller tool provided with your car to remove fuses from the panel. The tool is located on the back of the interior fuse panel cover.

    (2) possible blower motor dead. See maintenance manual excerpt below.

    (3) possible blower motor relay faulty. Location of Blower relay:
Under hood, drivers side, front engine area, rear of headlight housing; relay mounted on drivers side of radiator shroud.

    3. Detach the electrical connectors from the blower unit.
    4. Remove the blower unit-to-fire wall attaching bolts and remove the blower unit assembly.
    5. Remove the blower motor fan-to-motor fastener.
    6. Remove the blower motor-to-unit attaching bolts, then remove the motor.

Changing Blower motor on Chevy '98 4x4

It's simple!...Open glove box door...youll see a plastic shell that is the glove box rear portion. You should find 4, 9/32nds or 7mm (same thing just SAE or Metric) screw heads. Undo four screws and with a flat blade screw driver, gently pry out on shell at either side to clear the door straps. Once clear, just work out of resting place, set aside. You will now see like 5 relays mounted on top of the air handler. Remove bracket that holds four of them + one that is mounted alone. Pull out of the way. Checking both inside and outside, remove all screws, bolts, nuts as it were, until it is obvious there are none left. Now, this is assuming this is where your problem lies! If you are simply having a blower problem, it might be the blower module mounted right beneath and just behind relays on top of air handling box. Just take your time so you dont break anything. Good luck...theroad......

Blower fan for 2000 lumina not working. how do i access blower resistor

Do u have high speed? if not it may be the blower motor and not the resistor, the blower motor and resistor (which is near it) are on the inside passenger side of car under the dash, u will have to lay on your back to even see it, and it is very hard to get at even then.
