Check under the front seats, should be under the drivers seat or passenger seat.

Diagram fuel pump and gauges don't work

Try crankshaft positioner. It needs to accurately report rpm to the ecm to kick up fuel pressure. Check Inertia switch for fuel cutoff and reset.

1986 ford f150 tested fuel pump with cables, pump runs no power when hooked to wires going to tank, is it relay

THIS IS ALL ON MEMORY SO GET YOURSELF A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THAT TRUCK!!!
If you have one you should install an inline fuel pressure gauge to verify that you are indeed not getting fuel pressure first. Assuming you have no fuel pressure, it could be one of a few things.
check all of you fuses
if ok, check fuel pump relay for activation during engine cranking. I believe in that vintage Ford, the oil pressure switch is responsible for activating the relay. So with a test light backprobe the activation wire at the relay. if you get activation power at the relay, and no relay activation, then yes it is the relay, but if you get nothing, then it will be the oil pressure switch. If you get activation to relay and still no pump activation then you might have a break in the wiring OR the fuel pump has short brushes.

I know thats alot to take in but hey thats what a diy forum is for right? Good luck!!!

My 1986 ranger turns over but won't start, I replaced the main fuel relay and the fuel pump relay, what else could it be?

I would take off the gas cap and listen when you turn the key on. You should hear the pump run for about 5 seconds. If you don't hear it then I am sure that the fuel pump is bad. Very common. But if you hear it. Then you can take some starting fluid and spray a small amount in the air filter. Then try to start it. If it starts, then it is for sure a fuel problem. If it doesn't start then, it is something electrical.

Good Luck! I hope this helps! If so PLEASE vote! Thanks!

Where is the mechanical fuel pump, im not getting any fuel to the carb and have already hit the fuel pump relay under the heater core inside the cab

if the truck has a fuel pump relay, then it's not a mechanical pump it's eletrical. If you're SURE it has a relay, then the ELETRICAL pump is in the fuel tank. If it's mechanical, it will be on the motor, near the belts. Not sure which side on a ford.

1986 ford 460 fuel relay not allowing pump to run when key is turned on. But you can jumper it and the pump will run?

Either the relay is bad, or you are not getting power to the relay, to energize the relay. Also check the ground.
