Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

Battery went dead in my 2001 Camry. After changing battery and replacing a 20 amp fuse in engine compartment, was able to crank and drive the car. However, there are still no dash/instrument panel lights; power windows and door locks do not work. Have a horn, dome light and headlights. Attempts to reset the antitheft system have not worked so far....no red signal. Car has to be locked/unloced manually instead of with the remote. Any suggestions?

Check the other fuses. Look in your owner's manual for the location of them. It would appear that you have at least one more blown fuse.

Battery went dead changed it now no power inside the dash is dead only air bag light no radio no a/c no windows no alternator truck starts i touch a hot wire to the ecu fuse inside of truck and everthing...

Hook the battery up or try to jump-start backwards did we?
The ECU fuse gets it's power from the 140 Amp (or 180 Amp, depending on which engine your vehicle is equipped with) ALTERNATOR fuse in the engine compartment fuse block.

I have a 97 Sable and battery light came on and everything started going wacky. Lost all guages, speedometer, RPMs, etc. All lights came on my dash. Then all my lights went out and the car died. I was told...

that's becasue the new abattery went dead because it was not charging. The battery light must be OFF to charge the battery. Take it back to whoever fixed it. May be a bad wire betwen battery & alternator too.

check the 175 amp mega fuse in the engine compartment.

cehck this ground for a good connection - G104
Left front fender near air cleaner

check the 20 amp fuse for the charging system. Fuse 26 in teh engine compartment fuse box.

Were is the relay fuse for the high beam in the 02 camry

Your circuit is complicated. There are 3 DRL (DRL #2, 3, and 4)relays associated with the high beams. There are also 3 fuses for the high beams, one 5 amp for the indicator and relays and 2 20 amp fuses for the filaments. These are probably all in the engine compartment relay box near the battery. Turned ignition on, heard a loud pop and everything went off. tried ignition again, got nothing, no battery turn over, nothing.

Start by checking the fuses and then the battery connections, this sounds like a fuse poped maybe a main fuse, if its a fuse then replace the fuse if it pops again then theres a dead short somewhere, these are famous for bad starters and starter relays going bad, so see when fuse pops again if its when key is turned on or when you try to crank the motor, if its when cranking then its mostlikely the relay or starter, this main fuses would be in the engine compartment fuses box.

1995 Camry will not crank....replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, plug that goes into fuel pump...will still not crank!!! Battery was dead, as it sat forever...jumped it off and it ran fine...went to drive it...

If it keeps on cranking over and over then the battery should be fine but to check. Take a volt meter and put it across the battery and make sure it's around 12v

also check to see that the injectors are putting gas in the combustion chamber as well with the spark plugs delivering the spark.

Check to see how worn out your distrubuter is (cap and rotor)

hope this helps!

How do I change the starter in a 2000 Toyota Camry LE

i'm sure it's not the starter itself that is the problem, have the stater's solenoid checked...it might be stucked. It's quite a lot of work removing the starter but you can do it if you are willing enough to learn. You just need the right idea and tools to do it. Hope this will help save you bucks!

Battery Dead soon after service engine ligt came on

it sounds like you have a poor battery and a draw on your truck put a low amp clamp around the positive battery cable with the truck off and key removed from the truck for 10mins. then if you show more than 350mamps you have an excessive draw to find what is drawing the battery down start removing fuses starting with larger fuses until the amp clamp reads below 350mamps. then you know what circuit is causing the problem. check that the under hood light is turning off. common problem. good luck.
