Question about 2002 Chevrolet Venture Passanger

1 Answer

I have 2002 chevrolet venture with 94485 and the thermostat kept getting stuck so I got it replaced. After got it replaced it did the same thing .I was wondering could it be the water pump because my coolant did go down a bit. Also before I got it changed it started cranking rough but would then seem normal after a few minutes. I am hoping that I did not mess up anything else by driving it. Iwant to take it to the shop to make sure that is exactly what it is but if i could save some money without doing an engine diagnostics test that would be great so I could just get it fixed.

On the chevy venture there is a know problem with the lower intake gaskets leaking and it causes a air leak in the system. this will cause a problem with your thermostat and cooling. also heating problems.
The best bet is to look at the lower corners of the intake to see if you see coolant leaking if not it is possible the leak may be internal is your oil milky color?.

You probably have a bad switch, Disconnect the wires from the switch. If it stops, replace the switch. If it doesn't, stop, you might have a stuck relay, or a short somewhere.

Need diagram of where thermostat is located on 2002 chevy venture

If you follow the upper hose to the metal housing on the drivers side of the engine the thermostat is behind that housing.

A 13mm socket, some extensions, ratchet, 13mm wrench and a lot of patients will be needed. Its not impossible to do but as you get into it you will think so!

Shorted out CD player? 2002 Venture

The fuse is under the hood--it's a maxi 60 fuse, that controls a few things, so it's easy to change. You have to remove the battery cover(unclip and unscrew the thumb bolt on top). If you figure out how to get the stuck cd out, let me know, I've had one stuck in mine since December--luckily the radio still works.

Cd stuck in my 2002 venture

The only way to address this is to pull the changer out and send it out for repair, the loading mechanism has failed, make sure to send a note that you want the CD's back from the repair shop. Don't go through the dealer, they send it out to an authorized GM electronics repair center same as you will have to do, one diff, they double the repair bill.
