These lines slide on and off, theres a clip inside the connector that locks it on, theres a tool used to slide into connector end to release clips, slide tool in and hold hold in connector and then pull line out, twist and pull, the line may be a little hard to remove so while holding the tool in the connector twist and pull line out.heres a picture of the top of the tank where the lines go on to the fuel module and also the tool i speak of, this set does fuel lines and other lines i put arrows on the fuel line ones, this kit is $9.00, hope this do i get fuel - johnjohn2_84.jpg

This has to be done with a special tool but is not expensive at all i'll say under 10$ you push the fuel line disconnecting tool in the gap between the connexion and pull apart release the fuel pressure before disconnect if this helped or need further assistance please let me know i'll be glad to help

How do I jump a fuel pump relay of a 1988 GMC K2500 with a 5.7L to get power to a sending unit from a 1998 GMC C1500 with a 5.0L V8?

Not sure that we are thinking of the same thing. The wires to the gas tank operate the fuel pump and the fuel gauge. The relay is used to send power to the pump and you should not have to do anything to it to get power down the wire to the pump. When you turn on the key, the relay closes and power goes to the in tank fuel pump.

Was having trouble with my 1998 GMC 1500 5.7 with it dieing would restart and run for a few but got worse dieing and not starting so i took it in for a diagnostic test they said it had low fuel pressu

The fuel pump in the gas tank and the fuel pressure regulator are what controls fuel pressure-the pump builds pressure in the lines and the fuel rail on the engine, and when pressure is correct the pressure regulator keeps it constant by controlling the fuel return line from the fuel rail to the tank.
If your fuel filter is clean and not plugged, it sounds like the pump or the pressure regulator needs to be replaced. Even though the pump is working, it may be weak and failing. Some vehicles have the FPR inside the tank with the pump-You will have to check where yours is located. If it is located on the fuel rail, it can be checked to see if it is working right.
Good luck.

My son just drove his about a 100 miles and stopped fro gas it was very low on fuel. when he fillled it up it would not start. Any ideas??

Chances are there might be a clog in the lines between the tank and the fuel pump and you may need to change to fuel filter. I would start with changing the fuel filter and from there go to the fuel pump if that is happening i would recommend dropping the tank and cleaning it out.

K1998 gmc jimmy 4 wheel drive truck cranks but getting fire, when it did run it smelled like gas strong

GMC Jimmy's have a record of corroded fuel lines at the fuel pump in the fuel tank. Cycle your key from "Off" to "Run" a couple times then look under the vehicle in the fuel tank area to see if there is gas dripping.

My sons 1998 GMC Jimmy was leaking gas all over the garage floor. Just had the fuel pump replaced.

Either the fuel tank was punctured or a fuel line is not properly connected. They are quick connect fittings, an O-ring may have been damaged.

How do i replace a fuel pump for a gmc safari

You do understand that its located inside the gas tank right? you have to drop the tank to replace the pump. first get van up on jack stands the higher the better, next try and get as much gas as posible out of tank, than unhook all fuel lines and electrical connections and filler hose, and last unbolt tank straps and tank will come down, its best to have some help when you drop it. After its out it perty strate forward just use a screwdriver and a hammer to turn the locking ring and the whole thing( pump and flote) will come out of the tank.

1976 gmc 350 - no fuel getting to carb, I disconected the fuel line from the carb & cranked - nothing came out but I could heaar the pump working and feel some air being blown out - yes there is fuel...

yes it is probably the pump or a problem in one of the fuel lines but i would bet more on the fuel pump or suction line into the tank. If you can take the line off going to the tank put it in a jug of gas and see if the pump will pump it to the carb or the engine will run.
