I have a 1993 buick century very well maintained ,last week i was driving and it just died .when tried to restart it seemed as it was out of gas. it wants to turn over but wont .and it wont restart for at least 1/2 hour now its so bad i can drive approx.10 maybe 15 minutes and it shuts down . it seems when it reaches operating temp something cuts the fuel and shuts it down completely. ive checked fuel pump . ignition module something 150.00 at shop still has problem. can you think what going on with it ?

You need to do a fault code test, to do that and see what codes are present follow the instructions at the link. Also check fuel pressure at the fuel rail test port. FAQ How to read older GM codes for free

SOURCE: Car died and wont start

The fuel injector motor or called the Idle Air control module is not the failure. The fuel pump is overheating and dies out. Thus when letting sit a while the engine is starting up again.
I woult take vehicle to local shop and have them replace the fuel pump , I suggest not getting taken for a complete tune up. Just the fuel pump is the most cost effective way .

I'am afraid it would cost more than the car is worth, but if your in love with the car than anything can be done with a torch and a welder.

1993 Buick Century, what makes the car stall when giving it gas, and engine seems to want to stop, if no gas is getting through. Other keep saying check gas filter, fuel pump or relay. by the way where is...

The relay, if it has electric fuel pump, is in the engine compartment either mounted on the sides or firewall or in a fuse box in the compartment. Check your timing and run carburetor/Injector cleaner cleaner though the engine. Try replacing plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor as well. It sounds as if you are flooding not running out of fuel.

Brake indicator warning light for a 1993 buick century

Check to see that the emergency brake isn't engaged. This happened to me a couple weeks ago after I did some work on the dash and had to barely depress the pedal. Also verify your brake fluid is ok.
Hope this helps!
