Question about 1997 Volkswagen Golf
Check to see if alternator belt is lose. if its in good shape and not slipping or making noise then it might be your alternator going bad! check if you have gauges, to make sure your showing a positive charge after you start it up...if let this problem go on for to long and it may strand you one day. if it does strand you, immediately safely pull off the road turn off all and i mean all electric no dome light on, and wait 30 minutes..most batteries are designed with a reserve charge that will let you start up the car one or two more times to get you to a safe place..now you will be riding on just battery power alone, and if you do this for more than a couple miles chances are your battery will be shot and you will need to replace it.
