Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Have you replaced the tensioner as well? If not, I strongly suggest that you replace the tensioner. It must be done during the timing chain replacement. Once replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Getting spark to plugs suzuki vitara question asked on left

ok now 4 posts on one car one failure.
try posting all symptoms on one post.?
edit one
or add comments to one.
so we dont need to read all 4 posts,
this post lacks year (98 right)?
and country?????????? sold all over earth, for a fact.
and engine there. what engines, J20? H25? G16? what?
you said it lost spark on last, now say getting.
all i know is petrol and 98 and not starting

here watch mr. scotty,,

never ask questions on and dead engine without FIRST
telling the helper what engine is there.
like this
engine sizes gas /diesel and cylinder count or real name
like G16, J20, H25, H27
read the wiki on Vitara

02 Suzuki vitara getting an p0340 code on diagnostic tool. replaced the camshaft sensor and engine still just turns over without starting. eng. is a 4cyl gas burner

no country stated?
gas. ok,...
now engine stated.? G16, or j20? radially different they are.

i cant see which CMP you have
the huge puck type,
or the same with extractable small CMP sensor
the latter is easy swap
the former must be timed using the timing freeze jumper clip.

no story here, the full story
one day, it stalled.
then i scanned it and 340 popped
or got 340s after the new sensors.????????

no matter check for spark.
if got spark x4
check timing,? yes, timing light work on dead engines. sure do.
if timed wrong, then you did that.
if G16 engine the cam belt slipped,
j20 is chain drive cam.
j20 has CMP sensor on the left rear DOHC cam.

if sparks ok, test fuel now works, sprayed.

Suzuki vitara model 2000 .if valve noisy not fixed what will be next problem

no engine stated, ! nor country. sold world wide with huge list if engines.
G16, J20, H25 , H27 , are common.
if the j20 & up ,chain goes bad and you let go, catastrophic,
the engine pistons bends the head valves. unlimited damage.
what lives , is pure luck.
the G16 is free running and only a long walk home.

topic is cascade failures.

How to change a water pump on a 2006 Suzuki grand vitara

no engines stated, must be the H25/H27 V6
suzuki has 53 engines
and about 5-10 of those used on GV.
G16 , J20, or H25 series of V6s
toss coin, land on H engines.
on the V6s, the front cover needs to come off
exposing the cam drive chains.
its a horror this engine.
here is show a link to the real FSM pages on this engine.
here are the steps just to get to the pump (water)

Where is the fuel pump relay on a 2.0 d suzuki vitara 2005

the NON_GRAND VITARA is not here in 2005 sorry.
2.0D (that mean diesel?)
vitara are sold all over planet earth. where are you????
nor are they the SAME,
and vast engine options, there is a J20 gas engine.
the diesel is unlike any gas cars. all parts. related.
2.0 L RF I4 (diesel)
he RF is a SOHC, two valves-per-cylinder engine. (older FE)
One of Mazda's more popular diesel engines, it was also available with a pressure wave supercharger called Comprex.

my guess is that sparse "D" means diesel.
this is usa forum we dont have the RF here.
actually there are 4 engines.
2.0 L RF/RFM I4 (diesel)
2.0 L RHW/RHZ I4 (diesel)

learn that all diesels have there own matching parts
and that means pumps ,relays EFI, etc. all parts fuel. for sure.

As of 2003, the smaller Suzuki Vitara has been withdrawn from the North American market.!!!!!!
no engine, no books. no car. strike 3.
why not post to a non usa car forum even a real suzuki forum.?

many suzuki use a large pink wire for the pump power
this can be a big clue, looking at the relays.

It is usually advisable to replace it after 90.000KM if its a belt.but if its a chain it is better to wait until you hear the signs such as unusual noise(rattling) from the chain and have it replaced immediately. The problem with the timing belt is that it may not give warning when its about to break, so its better to replace it after 90.000Km or according to the vehicle manufacturer,s instruction manual.

Could you let me know where the timing marks are for a Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.9 DDiS

check around the inside (towards the block) edge or crank shaft pulley by the lower passenger side of the engine. Otherwise it will be by that pulley on the bloc, those are the only laces I've known them to be. Hope it helps
