Question about 1995 Pontiac Grand Am

OK! I bought a 1995 pon grand am and I have swpad mothers an old one for a much better one. Now I got every thing hooked up and I made sure all the grounds are good and every thing like this well then I went to Start it and it will turn but not all the way over and so then I replaced the sparks with the required spark plugs and now I get no spark going to the plugs. I have replaced the mapping sensor I have checked the coils and the brain box and Still nothing I have replaced the crank shaft sensor as well as I have gapped the plug at 0.006 I have cheacke the plugs as well as the fuses and made sure I was getting the 20 in both spots as well I am not sure what to do ? Can any one fig this out Please?

The sparkplug gap is not 0.006 this is why is will not start, it will also not start if you blew the computer and or sensors by not removing the negative battery cable first, if you removed the positive first you blew sensors and possibly the starter solenoid.

ok take a jumper wire and hook it up to battery then to fan see if fan is working ok and not the motor burnt up then there is a fan relay switch test that see if it is working

My battery died and I needed a boost. I couldn't start it because of the security feature. I have neither a fob or manual. How can I disable this security thing?


make sure battery is charged up, leave jumpers hooked up and just leave the key in the ingnition in the on (not start) position for 20 minutes or so and try it again

Look's like you done every thing that need's to check, just make sure your belt is adj' right, cause an alternator under a load will drag so make sure it's tie.Good luck and x-mas.

break old one out.better to use new seal put some vaseline on it makes it easier to work with itll take care and patience put the new one in

Where's the OBD hookup on a 1995 Jeep grand Cherokee?


i know this post is old but 1996 and newer is obd2 and is under the dash but 1993-1995 is obd1 and is under the hood on passenger side hooked to part of the wiring harnes by the computer.

Sounds like you activated the factory alarm.
Hook up the baterry and unlock the drivers door with the key in the door cylinder.

I think getting a new starter would be a lot easier and more sure thing and not cost much. good luck with this one.
