200 focus dohc. good battery, starter, alternator, fuel pump and filter., will turn over but wont start

Check relays under your hood for a blown relay.main relay bow is under your hood,usually on drivers side front fenderwell.lift cover and you will see main relays location.but 1st are you sure you have gas? other wise i will point you towards bad crankshaft sensior.if it turns over w/no start? then ask yourself this? is the engine getting fuel !ST look on top of the engine for the fuel rack,silver rod that runs to each injector.on the top of that fuel rod you should see a tire valve looking object. with your engine start key to "on" use a nail or something very sharp,depress the valve while your engine key's on. if fuel sprays to to the top of your hood,the injectors are good.be sure most and foremost!!! cover your eyes before you attempt this test,as fuel under high pressure will go into your eyes and onto your clothes,if it's a good fuel pump! thank you for choosing ixya.com with your patience as sometimes even experts have to research customers questions

    IF CAR TURN OVER DONT START CHECK THE IGNITION COIL FUSE.IF FUSE OKAY PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE IGNITION MODULE OR CRANK SHAFT SENSOR.USE A CODE SCANNER TO LOOK FOR ANY TROUBLE FAULT CODES IN THE FUEL SYSTEM OR IGNITION SYSTEM AND ECM.CODE SCANNING SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY.MEANT TO SAY DID YOU CHANGE TIMING BELT AT 60000 MILES TIMING BELT COULD HAVE SLIPPED TIMING.THAT WILL CAUSE NO START PROBLEMS.

After filling gas tank car wont start what could be problem?


If car was running normally just before filling tank, most likely fuel pump. If car is gas petrol and not diesel, to test bad fuel pump spray starting fluid in air filter box. If car starts and immediately stops is bad pump. If car still dosent start even with starting fluid be several possibilities; bad battery, starter, alternator, ignotion switch / key tumbler, or bad fuses. Battery, starter, alternator can be tested for free if can get to auto parts store, or aftermarket products like from harbor freight. If those still good check related fuses. If all good then to ignition switch problem which unless you are fully competent mechanic needs to be done by a professional

Ford focus 2003 would not start. replaced battery, turning over . carried out diagnostics and fuel problem. replaced fuel pump in the tank. started fine and drove for two days, now it will not even turn...


If you try jumping it with cables from another car, and the starter just clicks,it could be a bad connection to the starter at the solenoid. It COULD also be a bad starter at this vehicle's age.Also make sure the alternator is giving you 13 or more volts at an idle to charge the battery.Hope you get it fixed!

1993 Honda accord, the battery is good but when i try to start it it wont turn over. The alternator is good and all my fuses are good, why wont it turn over? Should i get a new starter?


To begin with, turning over means different things to different people.
Does the engine crank but not start, or not crank at all ?
If it cranks but does not start, Honda cars are known to have weak fuel pump relays which would need to be tested.

if the engine turns check for elec to the coil... is the fuel pump making a sound when u turn the key on .u should hear a humming noise for a few seconds .if not check pump ..has the fuel filter been changed if not it may be cloged

Just replaced the battery on 1995 honda prelude. Alternator checked out fine. 2 weeks later came out of work and the car would not start. Battery would not turn over. Could this be fuel pump relay? ...


The fuel pump relay has nothing to do with your engine cranking/turning over. If your battery is dead, you may have gotten a bad battery, it happens. It also depends on what type of battery you got. Walmart, Deka, and advance auto batteries have some problems. IF your battery checks good, it is most likely your starter, or wiring to starter. If your battery is dead, but recharges good, you have a drain issue, you left something on, or the alternator is not putting out enough amps. You may be getting proper voltage, but no amps.

Car wont start


I can only say that for the old cars even sitting for a year is not healthy, because most parts of engine, starting system, charging system will get corroded/deposited. Most probably you will need to change battery, motor oil, fuel, spark plugs, check the starter and alternator. Also check the fuel pump, fuel filter. First shot would be battery, fuel, spark plugs and starter.

2002 chevy malibu won't start


Does the starter make any noise or click when you turn the key to start? If it does not, chk. battery could be bad, and battery cables could be loose or corroded. If there good and clean and battery is good try tapping starter see if it will turn and start if it does or still clicks starter bad. It could be ignition switch if it does nothing at all, but if it clicks most likely its starter.
