You can find factory wiring diagrams here (free RAVE Download) And sure you can wire your spots into rear fog switch, depending on watts/draw of your lights you might want to "UP" the fuse rating

Spotlight wiring in landcruiser

I would just tie into the high beam wiring at the factory lights, wire them into a relay and go from there. I wouldn't even consider adding into the high beam system without a relay. You may also want to consider a switch so you can shut them off if you found yourself in a position where you want your factory highbeams but not the extra's. Good luck and have fun :)

Find highbeam hotwire for connection to relay for spotlights

You would be better off to run wires to the battery , put in a fuse, and put in a switch for these. Depending on the year. Switches, relays, wiring, and fuses in the newer years can not carry this extra type of load. They will eventually burn out.

Roof mounted spotlights

You can run the power wire into the cab to a universal
toggle switch. Then run a wire from the other side of the switch to the + side of your second battery.
Ground the light at the mounting point. Be sure to use a 20amp circuit breaker toggle switch, or splice in an inline fuse holder with a 20amp fuse, on the +
side. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 1999 DII and have just replaced the auto dim mirror with a new style with compass, how do I remove the old mirror

The mirror can be removed by carfully pulling down towards the dash.
unplug the wiring block and re install the new mirror. In my case the wiring block was a miss match so I cut the wires and used generic connectors to reconnect the power.

Discovery II 1999,

It's located on the lower section of the engine block, left hand/drivers side. You'll see some wires going to it, and a round heat shield covering the sensor itself if the shield is still there. You have to remove the heat shield to access the fasteners holding the sensor to the 2 studs of the mounting bracket. The connector for the sensor is up higher on the engine, behind the drivers/left cylinder head. Not easy to get to.

Transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II

No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.
