There are two little "flaps" on each side of the hu, you need tool too stick in the holes they cover. Its a T10 torque driver thats required. Its like a screw driver but with a star shaped point and the size required is size 10.The screws behind the flaps don't actually come out at all but once un-threaded as much as possible two metal hinges which hold the stereo in will be free to move and the stereo can easily be removed. --------- For more details, please click on the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-remove-radio-stereo-from-bmw.html ------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

    Try this procedure as follows:---

    Dash Trim:

    1. Start on the passenger
side on the end closest to the door.

    2. Use one hand to push
the dash away from the trim.

    3. While holding the dash
slide the screwdriver under the trim. If done right the screwdriver can be
placed under the trim with out touching the side of the trim.

    4. Gently pry up on the
trim, working slowly. Position the screwdriver so it is in the center of
      the trim.

    5. Pry the trim up until
you can get your fingers under the edges.

    6. Slowly pull the edge
until it release from the clip.

    7. Now start working on
the end near the radio gently pulling on the trim as close to the retainer
      pin as possible.

    8. With the passenger side
trim off the radio trim is next. One side should be already loose; the
other side comes off just like the other trim.

Bmw 361i what year model?

Not entirely sure what you're trying to ask, so I'll take a shot in the dark. maybe you're asking - "what model years was the BMW 316i produced?"

If so, it was produced 1990-1993 (with a 99hp engine) and from
1994-1998 (with a 101hp engine). More here:

Im trying to remove the water pump from my bmw 316i 1996 but i cant get the fan off, hav removed the allan key bolts for the outer part of the fan but cant get the centre piece off to gain access to the...

To get the viscous clutch of the water pump you first need to remove the belt pulley and remove the water pump. Then put the impeller of the water pump in a vice and using a 32 spanner screw the viscous clutch off. Note that the bolt on the viscous clutch is of left hand thread so you have to unscrew the opposite way to a normal bolt.

Radiator removal BMW 316i

hi, the two clamps that secure the radiator have a small slot on the top, if you insert a small screwdriver into the slot and use it as a pry bar you should be able to unclip the holding clamp and it then releases like a hinge.

hi markjones, the ignition switch can usually be removed without too much disassembly. First you will need to remove a plastic screw in the upper and lower trim covers. Seperate the covers. You should see a black plastic ring around the mechanical switch. gentley remove the ring. Next remove the rubber o-ring/band. With the key in the iginition and turned to almost to position 1, insert a heavy duty paper clip, or bmw special tool (about $30 from the dealer) into the small hole in the switch. There is a cam in the hole that needs to be twisted clockwise so the cylinder can be removed. When installing a new switch make sure to remove the little tab pice of metal that usually breaks off in the housing. Also be sure to make sure and reinstall the rubber ring/band because they are part of the ews system. If you key turns continuously, or is not able to be removed, the ignition housing and cylinder both will need replaced. Replacing the lock housing is about a 2 hour sequence and can be challenging. I would recommend a shop for that kind of repair.
