Question about 2005 Suzuki XL-7

1 Answer

I have an XL7 Trekker that has 48,000 k`s on the clock, never been off road or towed anything. It is leaking quite a bit of oil so I checked the dipstick and it is half empty. Serviced regularly. Regards Julie

Locating oil leaks can be a challenge..........the search needs to start at the top of the engine around the valve cover. If that looks normal..........the front is next around the camshaft seal or the crankshaft seal. Not too big a repair job

My 02 saturn sw stalled out going down the road, wont restart. towed back to the house. smelled burnt wires when i lifted the hood. tried to crank, single click noise, oil light and emerg. light on, and...

Hello,

Okay--I am thinking about several things here. Electrical fire; engine failure; coolant system leak. Visual inspection--look at the wires on the engine, do they appear melted or are any of the wire casings soft? Check the fluids for the engine (e.g.-oil coolant) if you have water in your oil or coolant is black you could have blown a head gasket. There are some hoses on the firewall side that go into the block or intake manifold, check them for tears, cracks, etc. After you have diagnosed the problem a little more--re-post.

I have a 2002 Suzuki XL7 and no owners manual. I have a button with N second line A/T and third line P when I push button on P the word power lights up in insturment panael What is this button for?

it moves the transmission shift points, to enable it to tow and go up hills easier. when the power light is on, you are burning more gas per mile. you use that if you are towing a trailer or are on very hilly roads

2001 Nissan Sentra XE: Automatic Transmission Fluid I've searched the Owner's Manual about changing the ATF. It provides the intervals for checking and topping up the fluid, but as for REPLACING...

no, its not maintenance free, you still have to check the fluid level, and change the oil and filter in the transmission about every 50 to 70 thousand miles(due to the fact your not towing or having to to the car). This just maintenance that should be done. The fluid will break down over time, and need to be changed. The filter needs to changed in-case of getting clogged. Yes, dirt, and stuff do get in. When you take the car to your mechanic for the transmission filter and oil change, ask, they should check the differential(should you have rear-wheel drive). As for us, its part of the service package. We do the complete change for one price(oil, transmission, check ALL fluids, (older cars get greased) tires and tire pressure). Ask them what is all included in the job, and the total price. You can get great deals that way. I hope this helped

if the oil pump siezed then you will need to replace the engine BUT.....skoda/seat/vw/audi all use the same 1.4 unit and you can buy a short motor from an engine rebuilder, although you may have to pay a premium for not having a unit to swop.£2400 is vee dubs price, try swedish and german they may do engines......or try exchange and mart.....forget veedub servicing, use a local man who can......

Hi, we have trouble with the 4x4 lever shift on a suzuki xl7. Is there anything to adjust the properly function

most lever shifts cause problems every now and then basically the cables that change the transfer case into 4x4 get sticky due to being under the vehicle and close to the body which they get gummed up with debris from the road and what not

The "Power" sign came on on the dash of my XL7.

In my 01 there was an A/T switch next to the shifter. One position was for road driving, the other for towing or off/road. All it does is change the shift points and the light indicates it is in towing off/road position. It is in the owner's manual.
