This issue is related to a elelctronic board that has a resistor burned.
Below the golve compartment you need to remove a snap on cover and the A/C cover(two screws). When you did this then a plastic module can be seen atached to the firewall, also is attached by a couple of screws.
WHen you have removed the module then you can open it by prying up the plastic cover. An elctronic board is going to be visible and the review the atached picture, just cut the component and replace a one ohm resitor 1/4 watt

heater core might need replaced . check the hoses going to it under the hood after it gets to operating temperature .One should be hot and the other not so much

check the heater inside under the dash and make sure the actuator motor is opening and closing the doors fully on the heater to direct the heat and ac.

No heat in a 1996 towncar


after checking coolant level,thermostat operation and if heater hoses feel hot(be careful not to burn your hand) the temperature blend door is probably at fault. It directs the air from the fan blower motor either across your heater core or A/C evaporator, giving you either hot or cold air. Most cases the dash has to come out to replace this $80 electronic motor. Good luck, Mr.P

I have just replaced my thermostat housing bleed the radiator and i still got no heating the thermostat is brand new


MAKE SURE BLOWER MOTOR OPERATING IF NOT CHECK FUSE AND RELAY.ALSO CHECK HVAC FUSE THIS CONTROL HEATER + AC CONTROL SWITCH AND MODE SELECTION FOR OPENING AND CLOSING HEATER DOOR OR HEATER CONTROL VALVE AND AC+ DEFROST AIR DOOR.IF BLOWER AND HVAC FUSE OKAY.IF YOU HAVE MANUAL HEAT CONTROL MAKE SURE MODE SWITCH IS RECEIVING VACUUM. When the engine is cold,check the coolant level.

Make sure it's on max.

A coolant system should be flush every two years.

If you did a coolant flush recently then air pocket can be the cause of the un-even heating problem.

The DIY method is to drive you car onto a ramp or a steep hill.

Iet the engine cool off and top off the coolant tank.

Set MAX heat + MAX fan

Let the engine ran for 20 minutes wih the cap off and the trap air will escape from the coolant reserve tank,

Check coolant level and top off coolant when the engine cools down.



A shop will charge $75+ for this but using an air operated excavate tool!

A car with over 90K miles may experience linkage problem to the heater control valve.

The heater control valve (near the firewall) may be stick over time.

Open the hood and move the heater to max and min. Back and forth.

Clean and lube the linkage with WD-40 to free the heater control valve.

If it's a vacuum type heater control valve then cash for leaky vac. hoses.

Move the fan switch back and forth to re-new the electrical conductors.

Pass a vacuum over the control panel to prevent dust build up behind the console.

You have clean the blower unit , may be its dirty then . and then check the blower resistor unit for malfunction.

its going to be your heater core which is located on the passenger side under the dash board. pretty $$$ . its cheaper if you know someone who could do it 4 u

Heating problem


Check the heater control valve (usually on one or both heater hoses just ahead of where they enter the firewall) make sure that the vacuum hose going to it is connected and that the actuator arm moves when you switch between ac and heat. Also make sure coolant is full and that engine comes up to operating temp.Under the dash, on the heater box there is a vacuum servo that operates an internal door. Make sure this is operating as well (same as htr valve) Likely one of these is your problem.
