Question about 1999 Ford Taurus

Ford Taurus 1999 brake lights don't work

The lights were working only on the left till today. When I tried to repair the right light, it seemed alright. To test whether the light was working I put interchanged the left and the right bulbs which made both the lights not work.

Might be both buls are bad now, replaced it with new ones
and make sure they are the same part number, you might accidentally install a bulb not desing for brakes,

I would assume there is a reason the wires are chewed up

You need to replace or repair the wire situtation, but not at
the cost of $1000.00

You replace the wire damage one wire at a time,by soldering
& heat shrinking them

If you depend on a repair shop, rather then doing all your own
work your in big trouble. Shops don't like that kind of work &
don't perform it well as a result. Not to offend those that do good
work, but it isn't standard repair shop type work & a dealer is
out of the question. Their $1000.00 parts swappers

Why is my ABS light on in my 1999 ford taurus?

The abs computer has sensed a problem, most likely is a bad wheel speed sensor or brake dust is stuck to sensor.Disconnect battery(-) and press brake pedal 5 times then reconnect if you still have light on then have the system scanned at a repair facility.

1999 Ford Taurus Coolant Light

Jackie, Hi, yes this would be the problem if the temperature sensor is not working it will not tell the fan too start, so best advice would be too change this sensor, or have someone do it for you and that should cure your problem, Colin.

Brake light, reverse light and turn signal issues

Hello. The symptoms you are describing are likely due to a poor ground. Temporarily install a new ground wire by securing a piece of copper wire to the frame with a self tapping screw. Use this ground wire along with the hot wire to see if each of these lights works. If it does, trace the ground wire back to the frame, unscrew it and clean up the metal with emery cloth so you reestablish a good ground.
