Could be the fuse for the horn, the horn relay or the clock spring in the steering wheel column.

Best to start with jumpering the horn relay, to check the horns to the fuse.

Take a jumper wire, and jumper across the normally open contacts in the horn relay socket ( listing in the owners manual ). This is shown as the red line in the picture below.

If the horn does not work with the jumper wire, check the fuse ( engine compartment fuse # 7 ) with a meter. IF the fuse has power on both pins on the back of the fuse, next is to install the jumper and test the horn connector for power & ground ( Yellow w/ light green is from the jumper in the relay socket and black is ground ). If you do not have power using the Yellow w. Light green wire & the black, try another ground, to see if it is an issue with the ground wire. This is to a ground lug on the passenger side inner fender.

If the horn does work, check pin #2 with a meter set to continuity from pin #2 ( diagram above ) and a known good ground. While checking this, have someone press the horn switch on the steering wheel. If you do not get a low resistance (

SOURCE: 97 f150 ford horn not working

the most common cause is the steering wheel rotating contact, it is called the clock-spring contact, this allows the wheel to turn and still have contact with cruise (if eqiped) horn and airbag, all have separate wires on a coiled printed circuit that looks like a clock-spring.

A leaking windshield ( lower left hand corner ) can cause water to get on the back of the CJB, and corrode the pins to the GEM.

My horn on my 98 ford escort zx2 just clcks, why wont it work

you hear the horn relay clicking. that's a good sign! means your horn circuit is good. now find the horn (often there are two close together) at the front of car (may have to search a little-could be anywhere at front of car). Find the horn and see if the two wire connector is connected. Try unconnecting it and reconnecting-might have lost contact. If still no go, check if power is at horn on hot wire, while someone holds horn on in car. If you do have power at the horn, try replacing horn. Only one or two bolts are used to mount it. If it's only a single wire, then it's case grounded. that wire is your hot wire.

Horn wont make any sound fuse is good relay is good switch clicks when pushed

Try grounding the horn with a test light off of each lead. If energized, the horn should sound if it's good. If it doesn't, and the test light lights at the horn, then the horn itself should be replaced.

Horn wont work on my ford escort van t reg.any suggestions please

Most fords have a horn relay under the hood in the fuse block. Fords do not have words on the cover, only numbers. You will need your glove box book to tell you what fuse and or realy it is.
