Question about 1993 Buick Park Avenue

1 Answer

1993 Park Avenue-trunk will latch but not close tight. Several years ago had motor disconnected so you just slam truck and not worry. Now the metal latch-catch is up high and trunk will not shut tight. Do not know how to get the metal latch-catch to lower. Anyone have any idea?

Find another 91-95 Park Avenue at your local salvage yard...or call on line or contact to reach on-line salvage yards...you can purchase just the latch...(as you know it is designed to be an automatic pull-down...This is an easy switch out...the latch will be $20-45. I have one at home:) Hope this helps.

Where can i ger a wiring diagram for a 1995 park avenue trunk pull down motor

The motor is an integral component of the luggage compt lid pull- down assembly. Terminal A (ORG) connects to 20A FUSE 1 in the relay center. Terminal B (RED) connects to terminal C of the luggage compt lid latch switch. Terminal C (DK GRN) connects to terminal B1 of the trunk ajar indicator (if your Buick is equipped with a gages cluster). Terminal D connects to ground (BLK).

Trunk lid wont close down

Check to make sure there is nothing obstruction the actual trunk lid from closing. If not, check to make sure the arms holding the lid on aren't damaged, and that they have the full range of movement. If not, then check that the latching mechanism isn't broken or obstructed.

Trunk wont close tight

This car should be equipped with a trunk closing motor. If they wear out they will not pull the trunk firmly closed. If you have a standard latch or other you can try to adjust it by 1) open trunk 2) loosen the two bolts that hold the latch to the trunk lid and moving the latch just slightly higher and retightening the bolts. A couple of tries should do it. Thanks for asking at Fixya.com.

I have Buick Park Ave. 1991. Automatic trunck

There is a motor on the bottom latch that goes bad. Make sure that the fuses are all good. They can be found on the driver's side left of steering column. On the cover if you flip it over will have a list of the fuses and what they go too. If they are all good, the motor is most likely at fault.

The latch on the deck lid needs to be clicked open so it can catch the striker. Try key to unlock and see if you can get the latch hook open.
