Is driver airbag still functional when passenger airbag light is on in a 2010 Chevy malibu?

Hello Collette,

(Owner Manual Page 2-68)
The passenger sensing system turns off the right front
passenger frontal airbag and seat-mounted side
impact airbag under certain conditions. The driver
airbags and the roof-rail airbags are not affected by the
passenger sensing system.
The passenger sensing system works with sensors that
are part of the right front passenger seat. The sensors
are designed to detect the presence of a properly-seated
occupant and determine if the right front passenger
frontal airbag and seat-mounted side impact airbag
should be enabled (may inflate) or not.

I'm not sure if a purse or other light weight objects would activate the passenger airbag but if your display is showing random passenger activation it would be best to have a qualified dealer check into it...better safe than sorry.

Where is the passenger airbag deactivation switch?

Your vehicle did not come with a manual [driver controlled] deactivation switch. The passenger side airbag on this car is controlled by a switch built into the bottom seat cushion of the passenger seat. If you place an object heavy enough on the passenger seat to activate that switch, the airbag will be activated. If it is activated when the seat is empty, then the switch inside the seat bottom is either defective or someone has disconnected it. Look under the passenger side seat for an electrical connector which may be unplugged.

Electric passenger seat does not slide back

Three things to look at. The control switch, the motor and the fuse. Sometimes the wiring connector under the seat can become unplugged by some object under the seat watch the dome light when you operate the seat switch. If it flickers when you try to move the seat the motor is bound up. Sometimes lubricating the seat track will help. Otherwise it's the motor

How do i drain a fuel tank

I would jack the car and located the drain bolts on the bottom of the fuel tank usually located under the rear passenger seats. Make sure the area is free and clear of flammable material and objects. Also, work in a well ventilated area to avoid headaches and wear proper protective equipment. Good luck.

Beeping when starts

If you sit your briefcase, lunchbox or other heavy object on the passenger seat, it will think that there is a need to use the seat-belt. Try clicking the passenger belt in place.

2008 MKz - Remove Objects Near Pass Seat

Do you have anything under the drivers seat? Fords will put the airbag module under the seat, if anything is packed around it, it can cause the airbag light to come on. Remove any items around it and check the connectors are firmly in place.
